The Digit-al Dozen DOES Winter Wonderland - Cracked Ice

Hi Goddesses

And welcome to the final mani of this cold and wintry DD Week.  Whether there's any wonder in this mani, I will leave for you to decide.  When I showed her, Beth pulled *this* face.

Lol.  I wanted to do ice cracking - ice on a lake splintering slowly and then becoming a dangerous jigsaw puzzle.  I even had the perfect stamp, on BM-608, but the little bugger wouldn't stamp (the lines were too fine to capture polish).

So I went freehand.   I started doing cracking shapes, and I wish I had based the pattern on a different shape, but too late now.

The base is a matted version of Different Dimension Big Bang which is ABSOLUTELY the blingiest polish ever seen in this world.  For my cracks, I moved from white to grey to black, to capture the colour shifts as danger builds.

I am 50/50 on this one - what do you think?

That's a cool effect on the nails you tried to achieve.

I love Beth! She's such a little lady! I wouldn't even ATTEMPT cracked ice! I love the base you chose for this though!
I'm glad you posted this! You chose great polishes to create the effect and I love the inspiration for our theme this week!

I love that you included Beth in this post too...she's such a sweetie!

I always look at it that the fails are just a little remover and another mani; no big deal! A lot of manis I do (and I'm sure others) are spectacular in our head just failed in execution. It still looks cool; too bad that stamp didn't work!
I'm loving that base. If you've got Girly Bits A Stripper you should definitely do a comp when you start them.
Not your best effort, but at least you were game enough to show us one of your failures. I'm sure not many others would.
Oh my goodness! Your daughter's reactions are hilarious!
