Stripe Week - OPI My Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours

Ugh, it's Saturday and I am still feeling like pooh.  Not only is this REALLY annoying, it's REALLLLLLLY annoying lol.  I have so many posts I need to publish - Blogger of the Month, HELLO - and so many nail arts to do - that would be Geek Week, starting Monday - and so many polishes to swatch.....  Maybe I'll just paint my sinuses too - do you think that would numb them ?

It's a good job then that today's Stripe Week mani is one I was super happy with for many reasons.  Firstly, this is my best ever striping attempt.  It's boring but true - practice DOES make perfect.

Secondly, I love the overall effect of this mani.  We have sweets in the UK called humbugs, which are striped, and this just reminds me of an orangey version of them.

All the polishes are from the OPI Euro Centrale Collection - My Vampire Is Buff, My Paprika is Hotter Than Yours and A Woman's Prague-ative.

I deliberately tried to vary the striping on each nail, to give it a more random feel, and I love how the 2 colours play off each other.

Stripe Week - Purple Sparkly Zebras !!!

I'm back ... I think.  I am so sorry I left you in the lurch for 2 days but my sinuses have well and truly kicked me to the ground this week.  Thankfully, the anti-biotics rode into town on Thursday, so I'm hoping I'm back on the road to normal (well, as normal as a Crumpet gets).

So ... where were we?  Well, halfway through Stripe Week, and this was the post I was due to make on Wednesday night but couldn't.   I wanted Stripe Week to be lots of different things, and one of the first things I thought of was zebra stripes.  However, I didn't want to do any ordinary zebra, nooooooo.  I wanted out of this world zebras !!!

Step forward Cosmic from Claire's Starstruck range, an inspired and oh so perfect gift from the lovely Katee.  Wow, this is an amazing polish.  There's so much depth and glitter and effect going on.  Really dazzling, really gorgeous.

I decided to stamp with silver, to get maximum contrast.  Can you imagine living in a world where these are your zebras??  Ha ha.

I stamped with good ole Barry M and Konad m57.

Stripe Week - OPI Czechbook Fishbraid

So, my OPI Euro Centrale obsession continues with today's post, which uses Can't Find My Czechbook as its base colour, with a little bit of My Vampire Is Buff thrown in for good measure.

Again, Czechbook will get its own post verrrrrry soon, but can I just say one thing?  BUY THIS POLISH !!!! It is the very epitomy of turquoise perfection.  I love it.

Ok, breathing deeply, calming down.  I'm sorry, I just LOVE IT !!!  Ha ha.   So, this mani is a simple fishbraid.  I've done them before and love their simplicity, but I must confess, this one gave me some issues.

For some reason, MVIB just would not play nice.  Its brush seemed to splay out in a way that Czechbook's didn't, and it made drawing lines with it REALLY difficult.

Also, there's a bit too much shiny shiny going on.  This was very hard to photograph with the light bouncing off the gloss.

Still, a sensational polish, and a groovy design, even if the Crumpet-y bits weren't the epitome of perfection lol.

Stripe Week - OPI Candy Stripes

A couple of weeks ago, I asked my good friend Ashley if she would like to do a new series of weekly challenges with me.  Happily she agreed, and then Emma thought it would be interesting, and so did Kerrie lol, so this week, we're all having a bit of a Stripe Week.

I tend to work much better in themes, which is where Stripe Week came from .... and then the handful of OPI Euro Centrales that I'd ordered arrived as well, and suddenly Crumpet had 2 themes to play with!

As some of you know, for the longest time I've searched for a perfect cream base, and OPI My Vampire Is Buff is absolutely it (swatch post coming soon).  This is the base polish you see in all the shots.  As it's not white, the overall effect is less stark, and much more .... well, creamy :)

My 2 colours here are the heavenly duo of OPI Sparrow Me The Drama and Planks a Lot, 2 of the most used colours in my stash.   I still love that Pirates Collex, if only it had had a perfect baby blue in it too :)

On each nail, I wanted to experiment / practice with my striping tape, hence the skittle.

I am loving the combination of these 3 polishes together.    I think my favourite nail is the ring finger - which one is yours ??
