Glitter Gal - LIZARD BELLY

Nails I Love

GLITTER GAL – Lizard Belly

Hi Goddesses

Another gem from LLAROWE, this is Lizard Belly, a holo dark green.

This is just not the sort of colour I would ever, but something about it, maybe the name, maybe its chameleon (ha ha) like nature, I don’t know …

Lizard Belly is a super intense green.  First, this is an extraordinary green.  It’s super dark, and there is no warmth in it whatsoever.  It’s like a sea of forest pines, shivering in winter – this has a very cold edge.

The holo in it also leans blue, again emphasising the cold heart of the colour.  There are echoes of teal and petrol in there too, but this is pure, dark, evil green.

I really love the holo in this one.  Totally linear, it perfectly compliments the base colour and stays in the yellow-green-blue spectrum, giving it a narrower range, bur making it more effective at the same time.

In my mind, I’m scrolling through other dark greens I’ve owned, and nothing comes close to this, not even OPI’s Here Today, Aragon Tomorrow.  It’s a very precise balancing act that has been achieved here – green sooooo dark, yet still sooooo green.  This never leans to black or blackishness, just cold watermelon rind green.

In the bottle, this does look slightly different – it has a charcoal colour with flashes of light (like an intense thundercloud) but on the nail, it’s all about the green.

This is one of those rare indefinable polishes that is worth owning just for the attention you get from it, but there is nothing that can detract from the petrol blue-green heart of this heartless, hollow holo.

Enjoy! J

GLITTER GAL Red Holo Sparkle

Nails I Love

GLITTER GAL – Red Sparkle

Hi Goddesses

So this is the 3rd in my holy trinity of red holo posts.  We started with OPI DS Ruby (here), which was a bit meh; then we had Glitter Gal Red (here) which was a whole lot of happy; and now we have Glitter Gal RED SPARKLE.

So before I go any further, you may want to grab either – a tissue for drooling, or an oxygen mask to help you breathe …  Let’s start by looking at her next to her sister, Glitter Gal Red Holo.

So, Glitter Gal RED HOLO SPARKLE.  Just to be clear, that means she is red.  And holo.  And she sparkles.  Red – holo – sparkle.  Red holo sparkle.  My.  If holo was my coke, I have just fallen off the wagon and found my heroin.

This baby is to die for !!!!

Seriously, look at her!!  She’s red.  Not just “mmm well I guess I could be red”, or “yeh, I’ll be red in a lame ass pinky way”. No.  This baby is R-E-D.  Red.  She has depth.  She has roots.  She has vibe.  She is deeply, plushly, bloodly red.

And then there’s the holo.  Oh man, the holo.  This looks in natural light like how my other holo look under the halogen light: amazing.  This shimmers without even thinking about it.  It’s like Beyonce – sexy and with moves, yet she’s not even aware how normal girls don’t have that ability !!  Man, this is one awesome polish.

And then we have the sparkle.  In truth, I was a little worried about the sparkle.  I thought it might kill the holo or detract from it.  What I never ever contemplated for a second was that it would make it 100000000000 times more amazing!

Holo!!  With sparkle!  Look at her!!  Look at how the sparkle isn’t actually some grubby glitter, but just a courser type of holo that shines more easily than your normal stuff!  Call it Holo Intense.  Wow, I cannot stop staring.  Doesn’t she look like pure fire?

GLITTER GAL Red Sparkle just crashed into my Top 10 in Number 1 position.  Not only that, I am going to wear this every day for the rest of my life.  Well, actually, that’s not true is it, but in my heart it is, and if I were genuinely capable of monogamy with just 1 polish, this would be it.

Goddesses, get to Leah Anne’s website fast as you can – your life will never be as good as it can be until you have this baby in your life.

GLITTER GAL – Red

Hi Goddesses

So, in recent times, I have discovered I am not only a purple whore, I am apparently also a holo whore.  Put some fairy dust in it and I am THERE J  This, of course makes Glitter Gal one of my most favouritest brands, and this is another beauty from LLAROWE.

So, you will remember I was a little bit meh about OPI DS Ruby (here).  Well, the good news is that GLITTER GAL Red is HEAPS better.  Seriously, you don’t even have to crack out a candle to see this baby dazzle.

Again the red is a little on the pinky side for me, and that means I am still looking for a red that has a ruby base, but this is a whole lot of progress over OPI DS Ruby.

GG Red sparkles and vibrates with linear goodness, and that’s before I put her under the halogen lights in the kitchen.  You can clearly tell you are wearing a holo, which I couldn’t always do with OPI DS Ruby.

Under bright lights this lady likes to SING!  The amps go up and the stars come out to play.  There is some serious fire in this goddess’s belly J  Under certain lighting, she does develop a bit more intensity, and this makes me happier than you could know.

So, red.  And holo.  Red holo.  MMMMMMMMmmmmm.

But wait … stop press … what’s this … there’s also a Glitter Gal Red Holo SPARKLE?  And it’s in my untried pile ??  ooh ….

Enjoy J

Glitter Gal - Green 3D Holo

Nails I Love

GLITTER GAL  Green

Hi goddesses.

So, another holo from my super haul from LLAROWE ( http://www.facebook.com/pages/Llarowe/126027514153022 and http://shop.llarowe.com/), and this one is a sneaky little beauty.

Firstly, GLITTER GAL Green has the MOST holo of any holo I have ever seen.  It is OBSCENE!  In a good way J  Seriously, this bends and shimmers so much, and I have never seen so many colours hollering in the holo rainbow later.  But I’ll come back to that.

So this is called green, but it’s only barely green.  It’s a soft dab of super light green, snuggled up like a newborn in a cashmere blanket.  This is a delicate green.  There are base notes of greige in here too to soften it down, giving it an overall warm and fuzzy feel.

When the light’s not shining, this pretty much looks like pure liquid metal on the nail.  Some indefinable colour and texture that just IS.  I’ve stared at this a lot today – trust me – and the metallic effect hits me over and over, so even when the newborn isn’t showing off, she’s still showing some special powers J

And then there’s the holo.  Wow, the holo.  I said I’d never seen as much holo before in a polish, and it’s true.  I am hoping you can see in the photos that this bends blue and purple and – wait for it – ORANGE.  Yep, the colour most dominant in this holo spectrum is ornage.  Whodda thunk ?

GLITTER GAL Green is an utterly mesmeric polish.  It’s one of those that will tempt you even though “that’s not normally my colour”. I love it’s understatedness, and for a holo, it has a lot of subtle elegance.  It reminds me of what would happen if Skull & Glossbones had some holo dropped in it.

The holo is strong with this one!  All day I’ve been thinking that, in my fake Darth Vader voice lol.  More than anything, this is holo at it’s most pure, almost as if all the colour was leeched out, and the only thing that remained was pure rainbow.

Treasure this babe, she’s special.
