Nails Inc - Baker Street

Hi Goddesses

There have been a few polishes to make a big splash this year, and this is one of them - the ultra blue Baker Street by Nails Inc.

Beyonce was pictured wearing it the week it came out, and then it was everywhere!  Then RBL released IDK, an even bluer blue, and suddenly this was THE colour of the season.

Unfortunately Nails Inc polishes are £11 in the UK, and as I wasn't sure whether I'd like it, I asked my good friend Jessica if I could borrow hers for the weekend.   And here it is - super super blue!

There is an intense electricity to this polish that is stunning.  It's rich, vibrant and quivers with life .... and yet, it didn't wow me quite as much as I expected it to.   Maybe it's because blue isn't my favourite child, but I did expect a little more wow.

For whatever reason, I ran out of time that weekend, otherwise I'd have skittled it with a couple of other similar polishes - for now, we'll have to make do with side by sides.

First of all, Baker Street above its predecessor, Nails Inc All Saints Road -

And now Baker Street above Barry M's Cobalt Blue

There's no doubt from the photos above that Baker Street is a brighter blue, almost neon in comparison.  To me, there are some differences between them, mainly the lack of light in the other 2 compared to Baker Street, but as blue is not my true love, it wouldn't persuade me to buy all 3.

So which is your favourite?   Enjoy xx :)

Unnatural Animals - Red White and Blue Tigers

Hi Goddesses

Occasionally you do a mani and it just turns out PERFECT in every possible way.  It's rare for a mani to be everything you wanted it to be (and more) but this turned out exactly like the image in my head (it's even rarer when said image involves stamping!)

So for me, this is just about as perfect as I get.  I love the colour combo, the perfection of the glitter and the deliciously crisp stamping.  Rock on!

This week's theme in Adventures In Stamping is Unnatural Animals - so, pick an animal stamp, but then use it with colours God never intended.   My base is Nails Inc All Saints Road, a rich blue which you saw here yesterday, and then it's layered with LA Girl Glitter Addict in Animate.   Here's what they look like together.

The LA Girl Glitter Addict polishes are brilliant.  I have them in quite a few colours, and they are great for layering, as they very Goldilocks - they don't go on too heavy or too light, they go on just right :)

I then used the famous Konad M57 to add my tiger stripes (or is it a zebra, or is it both, I don't know).   A tip here as well.  I was struggling to get good crisp white stamping.  I tried every white polish under the sun.  Eventually I caved and bought the Konad polish, and I don't regret it for a single second.  If you're dithering, just DO IT - they're not that expensive, but it will save you money as you'll get fewer grey hairs :)

So, very proud of myself here, absolutely love it.  You know you love your mani when you're gutted that you have to take it off.

Enjoy - and look out for the other girls today, everything I've seen to far looks AMAZING xx :)

Nails Inc - All Saints Road & Malibu Mojito

Hi Goddesses

One of the things I love about doing Giveaways is the feedback I get from you, the people who read this blog-like thing :)  One of the things that surprised me is how many of you enjoy seeing swatches and also, how many of you demand British swatches so that you can build your wishlists.  So this is me, making more of an effort :)

Today's double bill is 2 Nails Inc polishes.  First we have All Saints Road, a bold and deep blue, which goes on beautifully in 2 coats.

It dried a little darker on the nail, AND a little more petrolly than I expected - it's not quite as fabulously bright as the bottle.  Interestingly, it made my fingers look really short and stubby.  Seriously!   Go figure lol.  This does have a nice touch of drama to it though.

This is similar, but not as WOW as Baker Street, their 2012 bright blue.  However, if you're an ebay whore, this is both easier and cheaper to get hold of :)

For seconds we have Malibu Mojito.  Every now and then, Nails Inc run promotions with other companies and magazines, and this was one of a set of 3 that they did with Malibu last year.

This is a gorgeous bluey green polish, absolutely perfect for summer.  I have to say, on the nail, this one looks much greener than it does in the bottle, and reminds me a lot of Bella from the Essence twins range.

This is also 2 coats, but you can see there are a couple of bald spots.  However, as these are the famous "vodka" nails from the other Saturday, we'll put that down to Crumpet error, shall we ?

I think these 2 would also look good in combo together, but right now, I'm off to stamp and glitter them into the stratosphere.

I hope you enjoyed, and please let me know in the comments if this is the sort of thing you want to see more of.

Lots of :) xx
