Best of 2012 - Green Polishes

Hi Goddesses

Given my love / hate relationship with green, it won't surprise you to know that this is a fairly short post ha ha.  I think I've actually worn quite a lot of green this year, but not much of it has looked good on me.

This post then has the greens I have liked and kept, and excludes the greens I liked but which hated me - Cult Nails Deal With It, I'm looking at you !  As before, just click on the polish name to be taken to the original post and swatches.

OPI - Don't Talk Bach To Me

The perfect fugly colour, this is a yellowy baby poop green, laced with shimmer from the OPI Germany Collex.  I loved it, and I've just about convinced myself I can keep it.

OPI - Thanks A Windmillion

Another OPI winner, this time from their Holland Collection.  This is dusty and cool-toned and therefore perfect for my skin tone.  Beautiful sage shade.

Dollish Polish - Zombie Flesh

I don't actually know if this is technically a 2012 polish, but it's one I wanted for most of the year.  Amazing green tones and glitters, lifted into the extraordinary by those pesky black glitters.

Sonoma Nail Art - Here Lies Robert

Sonoma is one of the great indie success stories of the year, and this graveside glitter is a winner through and through.  Black, silver and green blades of grass.

Butter London - Bossy Boots

Creamy and dreamy, this is a beautiful green, slightly yellow in tone.  Celery soup in a bottle.  And nooooo, of course I didn't buy it for the name ......

Crows Toes - Frog's Breath

A magical green and gold glitter, this has enough magic to take your breath away.  A cut above your standard glitterbomb.

CROWS TOES Frogs Breath

There are quite a few leftover posts from October that are going to be jiffling around over the next few days.  Being on holiday this week has made me realise that even if I were a full-time blogger, I don't think I would ever have time to do all the things I want to do with this blog.  That's kind of a bummer of a thought.

Anyway, today I have the final Crows Toes Halloweenie for you - Frogs Breath.   It won't surprise you that being "the green one" I didn't buy this, lol, but Lauri kindly sent it to me anyway.

That said, I actually liked it.  It's pretty much as close to green perfection as you can get for me, and whilst I am unlikely to LOVE it the way a green lover would, I also wasn't itching to take it off.

The win for me is the amount of gold in this glitter.  It truly lifts it into a better realm, and for non-green lovers like me, makes it more appealing.

This is a mix of hexes, specks, large, small, in green, gold and a tiny bit of black.   It is a great combination.  I don't think this is what you would get if you put a frog through a blender, I think you'd have to dry him out and then crush him to dust to get these colours :)

Frog's Breath is layered over KIKO 325 Gray Green, and guess what - this green was actually perfect for me!  It's dusty, washed out tone was perfect for my pale skin.
