31 Day Challenge - Day 6 VIOLET

Hi Goddesses

So here's one of the things I have never understood about this challenge :  the first section is clearly structured after the rainbow - red orange yellow green blue - and then instead of Indigo-Violet, we just get Violet.  Er, why do we have to ditch a purple ?  That's so unfair.  You made me do YELLOW and I can't have 2 purples ???  Sheeeeesh.

Now, this was actually hard.  Do you know how many purple themed manis I have in the The Vault ???  Seriously, I'm sure I could do the whole challenge just using purple.  Although yellow day might be a bit tricky .... anyhow ....

This lovely little confection is a Recycled Nails mani.   Day 1 was Mother May I?  by Girly Bits, a divine lilac glitterfest, which you can see HERE.

On Day 2, I picked up Sally Hansen Purple Bolt (a GREAT stamping polish) and DRK-A which has on it this fabulous swirly pattern.  Swirly?  Spirally ?  

I love the overall effect.  There's something just a little bit cosmic and galaxy-ish about it, and the 2 purples work really well together.

Zoya Daul - Swatch, Review and Stamp!

So, in this weekend's post that DIDN'T cause all the drama, I spoke about how unless it was an Indie or a super special polish, I wouldn't be doing pure swatch posts anymore.

Well, this is your first look at a new style swatch post - you still get to see how the polish looks in it's clean and pure state, but you also get to see how I arted it up after :)

So yes, Zoya Daul from Zoya's Diva Collection.  Familiar much?  Why, yes, it is ..... super similar to Zoya Faye and OPI It's My Year, this has a delicately coloured base loaded with gold foil which leaves a heavenly fusion on your nails.

Unfortunately for me, it's not my thing.  I can completely appreciate it's prettiness, subtlety and possible workwear-ability, but these types of polishes always lean wrong on me.  Mainly, I look at my hand, and I see gold, and I do not like gold.  On one rare occasion today, in a shady corner of the room, it leaned as purple as it would go, but like a ghost - SNAP - it was gone.   So, beautiful yes, Crumpety, no.

So, what did my playtime entail?  Well, Sally Hansen Purple Bolt and BM-306 - a combination soooo subtle, that not even I can see it clearly!

Actually, that's probably the very thing I love about this stamping - it's subtlety.  Purple Bolt matches the Daul purple base so perfectly, that unless you're super close up, you cannot tell there has been stamping.  And I love the secrecy of that, I really do, as well the delicate pattern I chose.

Stamping Sunday - Pulsating Pink n Purple and DRK-B

Apologies that today's post reaches you so late - other things have consumed a lot of my time today, some of them good, some of them negative :(   The GOOD news is that I've started to create Indie Corner and you should now be able to see it in the Page Bar just above this post.  It's very much a work in progress so all feedback is welcome.

With everything that's been going on this month, I haven't done many Stamping Sunday posts, but this week's theme was Pulsating Pink and Purple - how could I resist ?

The base of this mani is the SENSATIONAL pink that is China Glaze Under The Boardwalk from the Neon Collex.   It's less neon than the others, and also doesn't dry matte; it has far more of a jelly composition to it.  Whatever, it looks glorious, even on its own (although it does dry considerably darker than the bottle).

I then stamped with one of my favourite patterns - this lattice from DRK-B.   I used Sally Hansen Purple Bolt for the stamping.

A note for those of you who like to be encouraged - my stamping this past week has been going beautifully, perfectly even.  Why is that?  What am I doing differently?  Absolutely NOTHING!  Lol, stamping - she's a temperamental mistress.
