Work Wear Wednesday - Dandy Nails Chilled Down

Hi Goddesses

Having bought SO many polishes over the last 2 years, there aren't many times anymore where I see something and genuinely don't think I've seen it before.

This is one of those rare polishes, and the minute I saw it, I needed it lol.   Chilled Down is an amazing neutral which also looks great matte.

The base of this is almost a cement colour, and it's speckled with champagne and blue micro glitters.

This is just so elegant, but also soooooo interesting.

Personally, I prefer it matte.   I think the deadness of the colour (ironically) brings the polish to life, and allows all the component parts to really show their worth.

I've used this as a base for art and wasn't disappointed.   Super versatile, and for me at least, quite unique.

Enjoy xx :)

31 Day Challenge - Day 5 BLUE

Hi Goddesses

This is a mani from the long lost Summer of 2012.  Behold the splendour of the natural sunny light, beaming on the delicious manicure ..... I think it rained 20 minutes later :/

This was originally going to be a Recycled Nails post, but seeing how I got roped into this challenge, it's now become Day 5 aka Bluuuuuuuue.

The base for this mani is the Barry M Magnetic in blue.  I did each nail with a different magnet pattern - my favourite by far is the one on my index and ringer finger; it's like a spaced out star :)

The quality of the Barry M magnetics is high, and the pigmentation is divine.  The purple, in particular, has become one of my actual favourite purples - there is something divine about how they introduced metal to the colour.

Stage 2 was this stamp from Mash-45.  I have no idea what it is, but it's vaguely aquatic to me and reminds me of underwater reeds.

This would have looked cool left at this stage.

But look how much cooler it looks with little dots of Zoya Wednesday!   I loves !!!  I was really pleased with how this turned out.  A lot of the stampers I admire often embellish with dots, and I'd never done it before, but I think it works really well with this pattern.

The Wednesday also provides a lovely contrast to the metallic depth of the blue - it all just plays off each other so well.  This is definitely one that adds up to more than the sum of its parts.

Enjoy xx :)

Stamping Week - Aqua Gold

Hi Goddesses

This week's focus for emptying the vault is Stamping Manis. I have quite a few that are pretty decent thank you very much, yet for one reason or another, they just haven't made it to the blog yet.

Now today's mani is an example of why I am sometimes a crap blogger.   I looked at this and immediately thought it was Zoya Wednesday.  Howeverrrrr when I looked at the date stamp on the photo, it's a whole month before Zoya Wednesday arrived in my sweaty hands.  So what the hell is it ?? lol.    I *think* that means it's Cult Nails Manipulative.  Think.  Maybe.  What's in name - it's all aqua goodness, right ?

So this was Wednesday / Manipulative layered with NYX Prismatic Gold, a really interesting gold in that it's quite cold, and as you can see, leans almost silver.

We then have silver stamping using Barry M Silver Foil (definitely, no doubt there) and BM-208.

I love the overall combination - it's effortlessly cool and classy, and who knew that gold and silver would mix so well together?

Enjoy xx :)
