52 Week Challenge AND MY 2000TH POST !!!!

Hi Goddesses

Good morning, good morning.  Can you believe it, this is my 2000th, blog post!!  And how appropriate that it's dominated by the colour purple ahhahaha.

This is the 3 Shades of Purple prompt from the #52WPNMC and all 3 are from Powder Perfect.  I had no idea about what I wanted to do, other than that it would NOT be a dotticure lol, so I just ..... doodled.

Polishes used - L to R

- Powder Perfect Peeling Wallpaper
- Powder Perfect Around The Salvatore Fireplace
- Powder Perfect Lorelei

What's interesting about this mani is that once I'd done it, I was really disappointed with how it photographed, and felt the camera had been baffled by all the colours on show.

So I matted it, and hurrahed because the colours popped a little more.  Yet now, after just having edited the photos, I'm really not sure I do prefer the matte version.  I think the glossy version just packs more drama.

I do like the abstract nature of this design, and I think this mani represents a lot of things I've been guilty of not doing in the past - just sitting down with 3 pretty polishes, and PLAYING with them, and having fun.

Powder Perfect Mysterium Magnum Collection Part 2 - Griffon, Lorelei and Lycanthrope

Hi Goddesses

I hope Christmas treated you supremely well and that you spent valuable time with your loved ones.  It's still a few days til I get Beth back, so I'm spending those blogging so that we have loads of sofa and snuggle time when she gets back :)

Now, just before Christmas I showed you 3 amazing polishes from the new Mysterium Magnum Collection - HERE - and today I have the other 3.  If you're looking to use any cash you got for Christmas, I can't think of many more gorgeous shops to spend it in.

First up we have Griffon.  I'm going to be honest, I didn't want to take this one off.  Ostensibly a Victorian, melodramatic holo, this becomes vicious in the light.

Now, photography is tricky.  To get the best lighting, sometimes the details get washed away, but you can see in some of these photos the secret green micro glitter that infuses this with the tales of a 1000 dragons.

Trust me, this one's spectacular.

There's a little bit of that washed-out-ness going on with Lorelei, and I think I am going to need to wear her again, with matte top coat to truly show you her beauty.

Lorelei is an incredibly deeply pigmented lilac, suffused with colour-shifting micro flakies.

All of these polishes hide a secret.  On the surface, they are "just" gorgeous.  What I really love is the extra layers of creativity which aren't initially visible to the naked eye.

And finally Lycanthrope.  This is SO hard to describe.  It's more than what's in the bottle - this one is a magical potion.

In the bottle this is a charcoal-ed plum.  On the nail, as you can see, it turns a steely colour, shape-shifting at will.

Get it in the RIGHT light though and you suddenly find a holy grail.  A holographic steely-green to purple duochrome.  It was more in obvious in indirect light, but I hate taking photos in the bathroom, but this comes to life when the purple and the green co-exist.

All 6 polishes were sent to me for an honest review, and they all fall into my favourite category of - "oooh, so much going on".   I am currently really drawn to polishes which hide their depth or have multiple layers, and Powder Perfect accomplishes that with aplomb.

Powder Perfect can be bought HERE. I already own a fair few - seriously, there is a LOT of beauty to check out there, so don't go unless you're prepared to spend!

POWDER PERFECT - Mysterium Magnum - Part 1 - Leviathan, Melusina and Faerie

Hi Goddesses

So, here I am, in the midst of all this end of year craziness, counting votes, writing posts, and one of my favourite polish makers says "Can I send you my new collection?"

Well, considering that brand is Powder Perfect the answer was YES YES YES before I had even worked out the time deficit consequences lol.  So here, today, you have half the collection.  Yes, just half, with the other half as soon as I can manage it!

For those of you who have never heard of this brand before, Jacinta creates amazingly intense colours and finishes which remind me of decadence, victoriana and old worldliness.  Nothing she makes is ordinary.  Her Mysterium Magnum collection has 6 polishes in it, and launches TODAY December 15th.

First up we have Leviathan, named after the gigantic sea monster who inhabits the deepest abysses of the ocean.  This is a navy holographic polish flecked with small glitters, and flakies.

As you might be able to tell already, my camera didn't know WHAT to make of this lol.  There is so much going on.  There is holo, there are flakies, there is green - it's an amazing storm-tossed sea, with remarkable depth and drama.

I did find the formula on this one a little thick, so you'll want to be careful where those larger glitters land.

Melusina is similar in it's oceanic heritage, with a myriad of colours and sizes of glitter suspended in a deep aqua base.

Melusina herself was a water nymph; half woman, half fish, but able to take human form. She met a mortal man and made him promise to let her bath in private as a condition of their marriage. He broke his promise and saw that she was a mermaid as she bathed. Once she discovered his treachery she fled and was never seen in human form again. She lives on in the whispers over the water, protecting her descendants.

Lol, I LOVE these stories!  This polish doesn't shine as much in these photos as it did in real life.  The photos make it look like I forgot top coat, which I didn't.  There is a lovely translucency to this polish that you'll just need to trust me on.

And finally, me and my camera agree about the beauty of the 3rd polish - Faerie.  This is a fabulous pink micro-glitter-bomb.

The sparkle on this polish was INCREDIBLE!   It was super glittery, super twinkly - just perfect for this time of year!

You can buy these polishes from today at Powder Perfect HERE, along with 3 other beauties which I will try and get up as soon as possible!  Especially the purple!!!   These polishes were sent to me for an honest review.
