#ITrustIndies - Literary Lacquers

Hi Goddesses

Today, we rejoice in the world of indie, and a few bloggers and fans are choosing today to share their favourite indie brands and manis.

Out of all the madness, malarkey and yes, mentality of this week, I have been overjoyed to see so many fans coming together to support indies.  If you've never tried an indie before, please don't let the Mentality crap put you off - indies in general are amazing, crazily-gifted ladies (and a few men) who understand great customer service and will bend over backwards to be helpful.

I thought long and hard about which way to go with today's post, and in the end I decided to share a mani from MY favourite indie brand, Literary Lacquers.  Here are a few reasons why I love this brand -

- great product.  Amazing colours, mixes, finishes, as well as that fabulous literary theme
- good price point
- great quality - good brush, lasts decently, no sinking glitters etc
- holos to die for, and Amy's special holo trademark, a unique glitter and holo mix that's just g-g-g-gorgeous
- a maker who genuinely loves her customers and encourages interaction.  Amy's is the first "fan" group I remember on Facebook and she uses it to genuinely connect with her fans, run competitions and invite ideas.  It's a lovely, friendly place, with exactly the right sort of vibe
- super customer service.  You're not a number to Amy, you're a PERSON, and she treats you like a friend

I've been VERY lucky, and I have swatched for Amy for 2, 2 and a half years now.  That means I get to experience most of her amazing products for free.  However, I started out as a buyer and a fan, and I am still a buyer and a fan.  If she releases exclusives, I *still* go to her shop for them, and I am NEVER disappointed.

Today is not the time or the place to show you my favourite Literary Lacquer polishes.  It IS the time to explain why Indies are awesome, and show you a lovely mani done with 2 of Amy's polishes.

You have been watching a painted gradient of Blue Lullaby over Thermofish, with white stamped swirls from MoYou Sailor 07.

Literary Lacquers THERMOFISH meets MoYou Sailor 05

Hi Goddesses

We're back to the Literary Lacquers Vurt-U-Want collection today, and some nail art that I did with the stupendous Thermofish.

Thermofish is the colour of a green ocean. It's so beautiful, you WILL want to swim in it.  The colour is perfection, and the glitter is just ... gah, to die for.

So with the oceanic theme in mind, there was really only one way to go, and I picked MoYou Sailor 05 and added some silver stamping.

Orginally, I was going to use one of the other polishes in the collection to "colour-in" part of the design, but you know what?  Sometimes simple is best.

Literary Lacquers Comparison - Thermofish v Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster

Hi Goddesses

I am having a fabulous weekend in the nail room - what are you up to?  I hope you're having fun and chillaxing too!

As some of you know, Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster by Literary Lacquers is probably my favourite polish of all time.  It's teal (WTF? lol), holo, glittery and just sensational on the nail.

When the new Vurt-U-Want collection was released, I was immediately attracted to Thermofish, which was teal, holo, glittery and ALSO looked just sensational on the nail.

As often happens, at first glance I thought Thermofish was a dupe, but it wasn't til I got them side by side that I realised how different they were (and how much I now hate the old labels lol).

PGGB is the bluer of the two, whilst Thermofish leans a very green teal.  It's still oceanic, but in a green, rather than blue way. It's also a lot more glittery than PGGB.  I wore PGGB on my middle and pinkie fingers and Thermofish on my index and ring.

Do you NEED both - well, if you love teal, yes you do!  If you want to check out solo pics, you can find oodles of photos of Thermofish HERE and Pan Galactic Gargle Buster HERE.

Literary Lacquers VURT-U-WANT Collection - The Blues & Greens

Hi Goddesses

Apologies that it's taken a few weeks to get this review to you.  When you move house, time becomes this cruel thing where wanting to empty boxes means you can't do cool other stuff like swatching polishes!   This is another great collection from Amy, which I was sent for review, and I am splitting it in half to cram in the max number of photos.

In this post we have the blues and the greens, and we start with one of the standout polishes of the collection - Thermofish.

At firt glance, this is a dead on dupe for my favourite indie polish of all time, Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, but on closer inspection it's not (there's a separate post later in the week with a comparison).

This is a very greeny teal, with Amy's trademark holo and glitter mix.  It's gorgeous.

Its royal blue cousin is Blue Lullaby, a real winner of a polish.  My camera freaked a little at its intensity, so please know that in real life this is much more royal blue (my camera has lightened it).

Again, the gorgeous mix is there, and this is a really stunning colour, a statement for all seasons.   I loved how dramatic this looked on my nails.

Shadowgirl is a polish that harkens back to Amy's earlier polishes - I haven't seen a glittermix like this for a long time.

This is really beautiful, with just the right combo of glitters, and dries to an ashen, matte finish.  Really unusual, and unique in my collection.

Finally for this post we have Bottletown, a bottle green holo with copper flakies.

This is fabulous.  It looks so smooth and delicious on the surface, but once you get into indirect light, all those flakies come out to play.

This collection was sent to my for my honest review and can purchased HERE.  Part 2 coming very soon!
