Digit-al Dozen DOES Love and Heartbreak - Love Hearts

Hi Goddesses

This is one of those manis that literally BEGGED to be done.  The polishes lined themselves up in a little row and then jumped, one by one, onto the stamping plate, singing "meeee, meeeee".   True story.

I do love this, and whilst it's not a splodgerama (no sponge), it's as easy as pie can be.

This started as a base of Elevation Polish Alphubel.    On top of this, I then randomly dabbed various pastels - Barry M Bright Pink, Mint Green, Lemon Ice Cream and Berry Ice Cream.

I then took my white Konad polish and my stamping plate - this one comes from MJ6 which is available in the Etsy store My Online Shop (just a note, that's not MY on line shop, just the name of the store lol).

This mani is sooooo kitsch and so happy - totally cute and I love it :)

See you tomorrow, when the Digit-al Dozen meets Work Wear Wednesday! xxx

Crows Toes KatNip

Hi Goddesses

The Crows Toes joy continues, and .... sound of screeaching needle on a record ... here we are at the green :)

To be honest, I've gotten to the point with greens now where even though they're not for me, I can appreciate them, and KatNip has a lot to appreciate.

This is a dark emerald green glitter, laced with gold and I chose to do it over a skittle to see which undies suited it next.  We have -

thumb = My Boyfriend Scales Walls
index = CG Westside Warrior
Middle = Barry M Mint Green
Ring = OPI Black Onyx
little = Revlon Toad

I also chose to apply the polish differently on each nail, again to see which effect brought the polish most to life.

I have to say, my personal favourite is the index, Westside Warrior.  There's something about the warm, mushy tones of the base, and how it clashes with the bright cold tones of the glitter that really appeals to me.

Ultimately, being a green, this may not be destined to stay in my stash forever, but for now it's a very pretty lurker :)

Enjoy xx :)

31DC Day 27 - Inspired By Artwork

Hi Goddesses

As a self-declared splodger, it really shouldn't surprise you which direction I took today :)  I was Googling around, looking for something funky yet random, when I found this -

And I likeyed.  A lot.  In the end, it was harder to do than I anticipated, mainly because a nail is not as large as a canvas lol, but I do wish I had done the pattern across all the nails, rather than individually on 5 nails.

In the process though I used my Sally Hansen Nail Art pen for the first time and we are soooooo indecently in love we need an 18 rating.   I can't believe it's taken me ppppffff  15/16 months of nail art before I knew of its existence, but now that I have found her, I am not letting go!

The base for this mani was the stunning Zoya Megan, which will be coming to a Work Wear Wednesday near you soon.   I then created my pattern with my white pen, and coloured in, using a thin dotting tool and the following colours -

Barry M - Turquoise, Mint Green, Indigo, Coral, Bright Pink, Bright Purple

Overall, this mani has got some POW but I don't think I've quite captured the original.  That said, it's exactly the sort of random nail art that I adore.

Fresh, funky and colourful.

Enjoy xx :)

31DC Day 14 - Flowers

Hi Goddesses

I do quite a lot of flower manis.  It's one of my favourite designs, and there's something oh so cheery about them.

Usually, a flower mani involves cracking out a stamping plate, however, when you're in a Challenge with the nail art heavyweights, a tad more forethought is in order ....

So, anyway, I still cracked out a stamping plate, but this time I did it over a kick ass gradient.   This was a layer of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and then I sponged randomly - and I mean VERY randomly - with the following -

Barry M Mint Green
Barry M Berry Ice Cream
Barry M Tangerine
Barry M Shocking Pink
Sation Class Flirt

The aim was to create something messy and colourful and indistinct, so that I could stamp on top of it.

I then used Konad white and 2 small flower patterns on Cheeky plate CH16.

Overall, I'm quite happy.  It meets my cheerful criteria, and I quite like how it's white on colour, rather than the more obvious colour on white.

Enjoy xx :)

MSMD - Fish Eggs and Zoya Suri

Hi Goddesses

I finally got me some Fish Eggs !!  Well, quite a LOT of Fish Eggs actually lol.  I wanted to start experimenting a bit more, and used some of the blog sale money to buy a holy crapton of rhinetones, glitters, caviars and all sorts - prepare for Spice Up Your Crumpet !  Lol.

Today's post is also a Swatch & Review for Zoya Suri, one of the new polishes from the Diva Collection which made me go ooooooh.   On the nails ?  Not so much.

Zoya Suri is a royal purple, with electrical shimmer running through it - she's Elisa's sister - and whilst she's beautiful, I just know (being the purple whore that I am) that I have this colour already.  Probably 3 times over.  So for anyone other than a purple-lovin' Crumpet, this one's a winner ...

As with Elisa, it's the shimmer which makes this so special, giving it a cool inner glow.  I think there's also some red micro fire in there too, but my lighting couldn't pick it up.

My Fish Eggs are an eBay special, and came pre-mixed in this sensational red/pink-green-purple combo.   It actually IS as easy as everyone says - thick layer of top coat and dunk - BUT next time, I'm going to leave a non-top-coated gap around the edge of my nail (I had to get jiggy with a dotting tool to smooth my shape).

The colours of the caviar inspired me to crack out Barry M Mint Green and Retro Pink and have a little play with wiggly lines and dots.  Again, it's nothing complex, but I am loving the overall combination.

So eventually I ended up with an MSMD (fish eggs) and a whole MANI inspired by the MSMD colours :)

Simples - hope you enjoyed xx :)

Oh and one final word - when you REMOVE your fishy eggies - have some tissue handy! They fly EVERYWHERE! xx
