piCture pOlish Monday - Orbit

Hi Goddesses

Is it me or are the weekends getting shorter and shorter?  I really don't know where this one has gone, and I don't even have a lot of manis to show for it!

Today it's time for a purple piCture pOlish, the lovely Orbit. Orbit is the very definition of an effortless polish - this is 1 coat.  1 coat !!!

This applied soooooo easily and effortlessly and dried quickly too.   If I only ever have 5 minutes to do my nails, this is what I'll be reaching for.

Orbit is one of the Mesh shades that piCture pOlish do, which means it has metal embedded within the colour.   This reminds me a lot of an OPI Suede, except it's glossy.

It's a dark, dark inky purple, with less of the blue tones you see in some of the photos - absolutely gorgeous is what it is.

For fun, I reached for the stamper and some pirate-y sword play from MJ7.

I then added a layer of Essie Matte About You to flatten the look down and make it more "metal".

This is not a "me" mani at all but there's something about the combo that I really love :)

Don't forget to check out what Claudia's up to - she's got Violet Femme today :) xx

This polish was sent to me for review.  You can buy piCture pOlish from a variety of places which are listed HERE.  If you are in the UK, you can now buy piCture pOlish from the magnificent Sally Magpies HERE.

Different Dimension VERVAIN with MJ Stamping

Hi Goddesses

On Sunday, I showed you 6 of the 8 polishes I was sent for review by Different Dimension (here).  Today I have the 7th, and on Thursday, you'll get to see the 8th.

This is Vervain.  Now those of you who know me know I hate white polishes.  They just don't suit my skin tone at all.  However, if ever I was to come close to really liking a white polish .... it would be this one.

Vervain is a white base smattered with lilac glitters, for an effect that's so soft and delicate it just reminds me of a duvet :)  It's a polish I want to cuddle, and it's beautifully simple.

For fun, I thought I'd stamp over it.  What I really didn't anticipate was that from a distance you can't even really tell there's stamping going on.

This stamp is from MJ7, and I have no idea what it is, other than it's random and pretty.  I used Sally Hansen Purple Bolt to do the stamping - this is one purple you can always rely on.

I think the 2 fuse together beautifully, and all in all, this mani made me very happy.

You can buy Different Dimension HERE and visit them on Facebook HERE.

Enjoy xx :)

NEW31DC Day 18 - Oldest Untried

Hi Goddesses

Interesting times in the UK tonight - we are about to be attacked by a LOT of snow, which will inevitably make the whole country come to a standstill, just like it does every year lol.  I will be keeping warmish, and painting my nails.  Not going outside bbrrrrrrr :)

Choosing, no FINDING my oldest untried was quite a battle to be honest, and I cannot hand on heart attest to the scientific accuracy of today's choice lol.   I started buying a lot of polish in August 2011, and I ordered these polishes in November 2011 from Rhonni of Ninja Polish, so they ARE over a year old.

This is HITS Twist (blue) and Samba (green) from their flakie range, which I bought in its entirety :)  You've already seen a few of the others on the blog, but these 2 I just never got around to wearing.

I actually like them both, although I would probably wear them more for nail art bases than for a plain mani.  The colour is jewel-dark and intense for both of them, and I personally love how the flakies are integrated into the colour.

Obviously I was going to recycle this mani, so I stamped over it with this pretty pattern from MJ7 (which you can buy from My Online Shop on Etsy).

I'm not totally sure what this pattern is supposed to be, but it reminds me of a flame decal that you get on sports cars for some reason.

I like that it has this strange wibbly wobbly (technical term) shape :)

See you tomorrow with "your fave polish" :) xx

The Digit-al Dozen does FESTIVENESS - Snowstorm

Hi Goddesses

I admit, I've been in a bit of a bubble this week, trying to deal with family issues and just get through.  Nothing however prepared me for the shock of yesterday's awful news from Connecticut.

As a mother, what happened is pretty much my worst nightmare, and my heart goes out to everyone who lost someone precious yesterday.   A lot of bloggers today are posting white nails to mark the loss of innocence.  I won't be, purely because I've got a lot of other things to do today, but my heart and my thoughts are in the same place, and I am immensely proud to be part of a community that would pull together like this.

Today's mani is a simple one.  The first day of Festiveness featured THIS mani, and I knew it was too beautiful not to recycle.  Eventually, I picked this delicate pattern on MJ7, which you can buy from My Online Shop.

There's something very peaceful and pure about it, and I hope that eventually, the people of Newtown can find some peace in their hearts.  Innocence should ALWAYS be cherished and protected; it's the greatest sadness of our modern life that heartfelt values seem to be melting away like the winter snow.

Peace xx
