Swatch-a-rama - The Pink Stuff

Hi Goddesses

This morning I am emptying the PINK polishes out of the vault.  There are a lot of lurkers here, most of them have been hanging around for a year, waiting for their moment in the spotlight, but it would be wrong to deprive them, wouldn't it?

We start with Cult Nails Untamed from last year's collection.  This is a pretty bubblegum pink with shimmer.

Eventually I decided this was too girly for me, but if pink is your thing, this is super pretty.

ManGlaze LesbiHonest - one of my favourite pinks.  This is a matte one coater and the colour just sizzles.

I use this so much.  It's a great polish to have for art as it's so opaque.  There is nothing I don't love about this polish.

OPI Miami Beet - wow, what a polish, and it IS the colour of beetroot juice!

Another love of mine, I use this polish a lot as a contrast.  It's also deliciously dramatic.

I've got it paired here with OPI Koala Bear-y, another perfect pink.

OPI Your Web or Mine - gah - hideous - this one should have stayed in the vault lol.

Whimsical Ideas by Pam - Nancy's Birthday.  This is a really popular and sought after polish, but I was a little underwhelmed.

Nothing to do with the polish itself, which is as lovely as you would expect from Pam, but purely because I am all CandyShop-duped out.

And finally Lynnderella - Matter of The Heart.    I bought this for the squares, but wasn't quite so crazy about it once I got it on.

And just look at this car crash!  Jeesh!

Lol - enjoy, and have a great and lazy Sunday.  We're back to a full blogging schedule this week, and there is a LOT coming atcha, so sit back and prepare to have fun :) xxx

NEW31DC - Day 16 - Colour Opposites

Hi Goddesses

Welcome to Day 16 - the official halfway point of the challenge!  Today is also the 3rd and final time you get to see what I did with Barry M Block Orange.

As I think I've mentioned, colour opposites are really intriguing me right now, and I don't need much excuse to try and combine something that should clash.  Ever since the summer I've also loved the combination of orange and pink, so here we are :)

This mani ended up with a further opposition which I didn't plan - the matte v glossy effect.  For my pink I chose ManGlaze Lesbihonest, which is 1 coat of sublime perfection.  It dries matte (as you see here), but looks equally gorgeous with a top coat, which was my plan ....

... but there was just something so perfect about the colour clash and the texture clash that I couldn't bring myself to top coat it.

Simple, and effective.  Love it.

Enjoy xxx

NEW31DC Day 10 - Geometric

Hi Goddesses

Geometric, twice in one week ?   Erm, yeh.  Tuesday's post was for the Digit-al Dozen Challenge, and today's is for the New31DC.  Wouldn't it have made sense to combine them and do them both today?  Yeh, it really would.  And why didn't you ??  Er, I forgot ....?

Lol, silly Crumpet!  I did this mani a couple of weeks ago, totally forgetting that I'd decided to do a tape mani for the Digit-al Dozen - major DOH mo.  So here we are.  This is actually the 3rd version of the same mani, and ironically, you'll see all 3 recyclings in reverse order.

This started out life as 2 coats of Barry M Block Orange, with some ManGlaze Lesbihonest zig-zags.  I then carved up the zig zag pattern with my black striper, trying to create some angular shapes, and then coloured them in with some summer brights - Barry M Blood Orange and Blackberry - and Barry M Silver foil.

Overall, I really like it, and I like the colour palette I used.  The only thing I don't like is how thick my black lines are, and it's annoying, because I even trimmed my striper brush. Maybe I'm just too clunky handed :(

Tomorrow it's .... splatter !!!  You mean 2 splatters in one week ?  Yes.  In addition to 2 geometrics ?  Oh shut up ;P

Love xx

Digit-al Dozen does .... ART ... Geometric

Hi Goddesses

So here we are with Day 2 of Digit-al Dozen Art Week.  Despite my general meh about yesterday's mani, it got a LOT of likes, so thank you for making me feel better about it!

Today's mani I AM proud of.  I am not a patient Crumpet by nature, or a tidy one, so for me to more or less pull off this mani is nothing short of a mani-miracle !!! lol.   I was VERY patient with this tape mani ... although it did start to go slightly wrong towards the end.

This mani was brought to you with ManGlaze polishes.  I still have a few I've never worn, so I thought I would have a little ManGlaze party on my nails, all over my OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls base.

The colours are -

- dark red - Fatty's Got More Blood
- orange - Butt Taco
- pink - Lesbihonest
- green - Nawsome Sauce
- aqua - ILF
- blue - Royal Matte-rimoaning

My striping tape, as usual, was an eBay special, and this time, I found it easy to use.  Usually, I use the thicker tape as I find the skinny one too fiddly, but for some reason, I didn't have those issues this time.

Tape manis ARE fiddly and they DO require patience, but when they work - wow, they are SO worth it.   You can see there's a little bit of mess on the ring finger nail.  I was really tempted to try and tidy it up when I edited the photos, but I'm happy for you to see it.  Just because I'm getting better, doesn't mean I'm perfect :)

Don't forget to check out the other awe-inspiring ladies - they're are all killing me with their brilliance!  Love xx

Summer Challenge Day 3 - Summer Dots

Hi Goddesses

Welcome to Day 3 of the challenge, and I'm hoping all these manis are starting to get you in the summer mood.

Today's mani was simple - summer dots - and I was a bit stuck for inspiration, as everything I wanted to do was too similar to other manis I've done.  Needless to say, this was not the mani I planned, but I'm still really happy with how it turned out.

This is 2 coats of the glorious Lesbihonest from ManGlaze, a deep, dark, troubled fuchsia with veiled depths.  I matched it with dots in the equally vibrant ManGlaze Butt Taco and a scary neon egg yolk yellow from Stargazer.

As some of you know, I've never been the big matte fan, but I really love these vibrant, life-out-loud colours in a matte format.

I also believe in Recycled Nails - doing something different with your mani on Day 2, so I just glossed this one up.  It still looks sensational, but I do feel the matte version has more impact.  Oooh, did you ever think you'd hear a Crumpet say that?!

The beauty of the ManGlaze polishes is that they are deceptively complex.  All of them have secret hidden depths where shimmery, threaded delights are lurking, waiting to be unlocked.  It's one of the joys of glossing up a matte - it gives you a totally different appreciation of the art that went into the polish.

Just to echo what everyone else says - ManGlaze wears well.   And now it's perfect for summer too.

Enjoy xx :) and don't forget to check out all the other talented ladies on the Challenge -
