Today features a polish I didn't think I'd like, and nail art that I couldn't like more if you bribed me with chinese food! It's ALL good :)
The base polish is Snafu by Girly Bits, which was sent to me for review. It was created with Nicole from Nail Polish Wars and it's just gorgeous.
This is basically an opaque colourless polish lol. It's nothingness .... made real. It's creamy, greyish, neutral, silvery in tone, goldish in depth ... it's quite extraordinary is what it is.
I honestly didn't expect to like it as much as I did. It's not my kind of usual colour, but is was a gorgeous palate cleanser, as well as an awesome polish base for ....
.... some awesome neon leopard print nail art! I love love LOVE leopard print and I'm always looking for new ways of doing it.

I've been envious of other people's leopard patterns lately, so I tried something new, and for me it made a massive difference. I've always done my spots using a dotting tool, but this time I used a brush for those, and also for the outline. I found the outline work especially was much tighter and cleaner than my usual pattern.
I honestly couldn't get enough of this one and was sad to take if off.

Hurrah! We made it to the end of the week - well done :) I had a real dilemma about which mani to post today. I did quite a lot of manis for this week, so all the ones I haven't used will be coming very soon!

Ok, cards on the table first. I do NOT alter my photographs or PhotoShop them. However, with this mani, I was really bummed that my camera faded all the neon - and the purple - away. I've therefore played with the controls a little - to try and get the polishes to look how they would if you were wearing them. I've managed to get the bottle shot accurate, but it's harder when there's flesh involved and your fingers can start looking dead or zombiefied!
I then stamped using Konad m57 - a real blast from the past. It's still the best looking leopard stamp I have, however it doesn't fit my thumb. Now, I'm pretty sure that my thumb hasn't grown, so why didn't I notice before? Lol.
This mani reminds me of Jacki from Adventures in Acetone. I can't be certain, but it FEELS like she's done this mani before, so thanks for the inspiration!

For some reason, neons and leopard print are very wedded in my mind. There are endless variations, and whilst this isn't the one I planned to do, I do like that it's different.
On base I have Hot Hot Hot Pants from the Color Club Pastel Neons Collection. I haven't used ANY of these much yet, but I do love them. I also love that they show a different aspect of neons that isn't so eye-searing.
On the other nails is Girly Bits Thump Your Melons, a scorching orange, and all the nails are topped with Ninja Polish Gauntlet (review coming soon), a gold version of Fairy Dust.
I love the pop of the bright leopard on the paler background!

It's one of the hilarities of my blogging life that once upon a time I HATED teal. I'm a pretty no-nonsense person, and I just couldn't respect a polish that couldn't decide whether it was blue or green.
Since then, I've become somewhat the fan. You can blame Amy for a lot of it - Literary Lacquers Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster has been my favourite polish for 18 months now - gggrrrr. More than anything though, the teals, especially the darker ones, like Je Reviens, appeal to my inner witch. They seem to phsycially represent the glamour of a witchy soul, and I do so love that about them.
Je Reviens is just glory in a bottle. Dark, intense, dangerous and yet GLITTERED with sparkle. This is witchcraft on a whole new level.
I then decided to add some leopard print, and decided it would be GENIUS to have white edging rather than black - hhhmmm, still not so sure about that - and added OPI Can't Find My Czechbook as my contrast.
I think these ended up ok rather than sensational, but man, you can't beat that teal.
