Hi Goddesses
Today's prompt is a very different one, and I think I knew all along that I would be using blue and orange. Make that 4 blues and one orange.
Here we have colours that complement each other - the varying shades of blue - and one colour which contrasts - the orange. I've again used the ikat style brushstroke, because I think it suits my style of nail art so well.
Polishes used -
Elevation Polish Thracian Sea
Barry M Damson
Barry M Elderberry
Barry M Huckleberry
Essie Orange It's Obvious
The random nature of this mani is perfect for me, and each nail was "constructed" differently. I think the colours play really well off each other, and the matte top coat just nails it.
Hi Goddesses
I love manis which tell a story. Usually, I am not clever enough to tell them, but this time, I had a cunning plan lol.
Behold, AGAIN, Huckleberry by Barry M and its icy perfection. It made the perfect washed out winter sky.
The mani shows the snowman and how he comes to life in the snowstorm, and then melts / dies in the wintry sun.
On the thumb, he's just a few half-hearted large snowballs, left overnight by the children. Later, they roll the huge body ball.
By the middle nail he is born, with a top hat, scarf, arms and coal / stones and a carrot nose.
But oh no! The sun starts to shine and he melts to the right lol, before finally wobbling into a heap on the pinkie.
Aw, poor Mr Snowman.
Hi Goddesses
Today's mani is another icy extravaganza lol, again featuring Literary Lacquers Always Winter Never Christmas and Barry M Huckleberry.
These 2 make an awesome gradient. The glitter in AWNC doesn't quite die, and I love the icy effect as it peeks through the 2nd polish.
I used the nail aprons from Loki's Nail Vinyls for this mani, and it saved me loads of time on clean up.
The trees are a sad story. Firstly, the pattern (which I love) is from Cheeky Jumbo Plate 6, called Happy Holidays. I love the spartan, barren qualities of the design.
This is the first and only time I stamped with Mundo de Unas. I bought 10, and opened this white and just knew I would never be able to cope with the smell. Awful. Truly awful. Buy with caution.
I leave you with some more shots of the beautiful gradient.
Hi Goddesses
For our December theme this year, the DD have picked Winter Wonderland - prepare for a lot of ice blue this week lol.
The one I have mostly been using is Barry M Huckleberry, a fabulous icy Gelly which is similar to their famous Blue Moon (but without the shimmer). Here it's gradiented over Literary Lacquers Always Winter Never Christmas to make the perfect winter sky.
I promised myself I would do a robin this year, so here he is, in his winter landscape. He's got bare branches and look! he's left his ickle footprints on the pinkie! (do they have "feet" or do they have another name?).
The thumb has a great big pine tree, gathering snowfall, and the index is just the winter sky with the watery sun.
