Digit-al Dozen DOES Nature - Waves

Hi Goddesses

Long time, no see!  Other than saying a very warm and huggy hello, I'm going to dive straight into today's post.  Where I've been the last couple of weeks and how things are going / not going can wait for a Crumpet's Journal piece - this week's all about the art!

It's ironic.  I actually did all of this week's manis about 5 weeks ago.  In fact, this one was done in December.  It's as if the universe knew things were going to turn to shit - if I hadn't done these so early, there's no way I would have found the time to create them in the last 2 weeks.

Like a lot of my manis, this was a happy accident, and started with a review of Leviathan by Powder Perfect.  When I was debating what art to do over the top, it struck me as a dark aquatic colour, so I splodged on some Barry M Elderberry and Cardamom to make it look more turbulent.

Getting the right mix of colours was a little tricky, and there were a few overdubs before I added the waves.  These came from MoYou Sailor 06.

This is one of the rare times where I've not used a whole pattern OR when I've only stamped my tips, so quite the first today, and overall, I absolutely loved how this came together.

Digit-al Dozen DOES Patterns on Patterns - Camo and Roses

Hi Goddesses

Today's mani is the only one this week that is inspired by a real thing.

A couple of weeks ago, a girl I worked with, came into work wearing a scarf.  At first glance, it looked like pure camo but on closer inspection .... ooooh, roses!

The roses were woven into the camo and really unexpected.  I loved the clash of masculine and feminine patterns, and knew instantly that this would make it to DD week.

The camo pattern was done with a dotting tool, and Barry M Olive and Cardomom and w7 Spearmint.  Once the base was dry and sealed, I added the roses.

The roses are a base of Morgan Taylor Sitting Pretty and petals of w7 Salmon.  I adore the clash of the pink with the green and the mix of patterns here.

31DC2015 Day 21 - 3 Shades of Green / Yellow

Hi Goddesses

We're powering through the 31DC2015, and we're now in the final furlong.

Today is shades of green, which gave me an excuse to use my new Barry M Cardamom, a lovely medium dusty green which actually matches my skin tone.

I then saran wrapped with Color Club Kismet, and then stamped over the top with Konad dark green and MoYou Fashionista 04.

This was the first day my ring finger broke, and I thought I could power through, but look how ridiculous it looks!  After one more mani I realised I had to pause for a fortnight until it grew out.

Siiiiiigh.
