It Girl 03 Meets the Color Club Pastel Neons

Another mani today with the fabulous It Girl 03 plate which I was sent for review.  This was also a great chance to use my UberMat and make some decals!

I bought the Color Club pastel neons MONTHS ago, and then took my blogging break, and for the longest time they have been sat on my shelf staring at me accusingly.  This mani seemed a perfect time to use them!

There is no base on my nails, just base coat.   I stamped onto my UberMat (over a prepped aread of base coat) using Barry M Silver Foil, and then basically coloured in!

I loved the childish aspect of the colouring in lol, but I have to tell you, this KILLED my back!  I don't think I could have chosen a pickier pattern, and this took me pretty much an hour to do (for 5 nails), which is unheard of for me.

Still, the final effect was worth it, something about the pastels with that silver is just WOAH to me, and I really was reluctant to take this one off.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Metal - Missy's Metal

Today's post is one tinged with a hint of sadness.  I hope the sadness is short-lived, but I daren't hope too hard.


You may have noticed this week that one member has been missing - the insanely creative Missy from Gnarly Gnails, who is also probably my closest polish bestie.

Missy is having one of those times when a lot of life is attacking her at once, and quite rightly, she has scaled back everything non-essential so that she has more time to deal with real-life things.

Cutting back meant cutting back on the DD too, and whilst I 100% understand her reasons, I miss my polish twin sooooo much.  I hope she manages to get through these current struggles, and that once she has, she might return to us, her DD family.



I had always planned to do this mani this week, after I saw Missy do it for for DD Texture Week, but given the circumstances, it seemed even MORE appropriate.

Missy did a genius, creative version.  Me, lacking her time and talent, did stamping!  I found this image on a very old stamping plate - large Cheeky plate A.

I used 2 tones of silver.  The thumb, index and middle have OPI Haven't the Foggiest on base, with Barry M Silver Foil stamping, and then the ring and little fingers are reversed.  I was quite relieved this showed up as much as it did.

I hope you've enjoyed this week.  I really feel I've attacked it with more creativity than I've shown in a LOOOONG time.  Which was your favourite mani?

31DC Day 15 - Delicate

Being a great big harrumphing Crumpet, today was always going to be a challenge for me.  Me and delicate, well, let's say we keep each other at arm's length, and that's they way we like it :)

However, upon the arrival of my new awesome LeaLac plate from Llarowe, it all came together easily, if not perfectly.  For the longest time, this has been one of my favourite manis - 

It comes from MaDManis Blog, and you can see the original here.   There's just something perfect both in the colour choice and the delicacy of those whisps in the wind.

Anyhow, the new LLC-A plate features this stamp, and as soon as I saw it, I knew it was an opportunity to recreate this mani.

HOWEVER.... the LeaLac plates are huge, and I mean HUGE.  I have large paws, and even I think they're huge!  Now for some patterns, that's not a problem, but with this one, it sadly meant I couldn't fit the whole dandelion on one nail, so I ended up doing a kind of composite, placing it at different points on the nail to give the overall impression of what it looked like!   Gggrrrrrr.

The base is Zoya Caitlin, and if you look very carefully, you can see the index finger chipped after 1 day at work.  This NEVER happens to me.  I wonder if it's because of all the cuticle oil I'm slavering on at the moment.

As usual, I stamped with Barry M Silver foil, and whilst the overall effect is still gorgeous, it really doesn't compare to the original.

Still, this is probably as delicate as a Crumpet gets.

Stamping Week - Neptune Nails

I hope you're enjoying Stamping Week, and today sees another trot out for the DRK-B plate, which is truly stunning.

Today's mani has a lot in common with the a-England one you saw earlier in the week, and was done at the same time.  Then it was the right hand, today you get to see what was on the left :)

The base for this hand is a skittle again - this time a-England Saint George is on the thumb, middle and pinkie, and HITS Hera is on the index and ring.   Both are teal holos, but in totally different ways, and there is a comparison post coming up, honest!

I decided I wanted a watery theme for the nails as the colours reminded me of mermaids and storm tossed seas.  Instead of being too obvious, I picked this pattern, which reminds me of cresting waves.

I used Barry M Silver Foil (obvs) and I think this almost stamped TOO well.   You can see on some of the nails that the dots aren't very well defined because the image has been picked up so deeply.   It's a cool pattern though - I see lots of uses for this in our future :)

Stamping Week - Aqua Gold

This week's focus for emptying the vault is Stamping Manis. I have quite a few that are pretty decent thank you very much, yet for one reason or another, they just haven't made it to the blog yet.

Now today's mani is an example of why I am sometimes a crap blogger.   I looked at this and immediately thought it was Zoya Wednesday.  Howeverrrrr when I looked at the date stamp on the photo, it's a whole month before Zoya Wednesday arrived in my sweaty hands.  So what the hell is it ?? lol.    I *think* that means it's Cult Nails Manipulative.  Think.  Maybe.  What's in name - it's all aqua goodness, right ?

So this was Wednesday / Manipulative layered with NYX Prismatic Gold, a really interesting gold in that it's quite cold, and as you can see, leans almost silver.

We then have silver stamping using Barry M Silver Foil (definitely, no doubt there) and BM-208.

I love the overall combination - it's effortlessly cool and classy, and who knew that gold and silver would mix so well together?
