Digit-al Dozen DOES New & Improved - Tape Mani

Hi Goddesses

And welcome to the first Digit-al Dozen challenge of 2016.  As befits the New Year, we thought we'd go with a challenge that saw us trying NEW techniques, or IMPROVING on techniques we'd tried in the past.  Oh, and you must check out the links at the bottom of the post as we have 5 NEW MEMBERS - purely to fit the theme lol.  Not.

Today I have a tape mani.  I admit, I'm lazy with my nail art.  Left to my own devices, I circle back to the same things time and time again - dots, splodging, gradients, stamping.  Tape manis, whilst I love them, tend to fall off my list because they take longer, and I'm an impatient little Crumpet.

My mani was inspired by a DD mani that Shelly did a couple of months ago.  Beautiful layered zig zags.  5 rows / colours.  I lack logic, and the "how to" of this escaped me, but Shelly also did a brilliant tutorial, so I decided to give it a go.

Polishes used -
* Essie - No Place Like Chrome
* Lilypad Lacquer - A Balt Out of the Blue
* Darling Diva - Nightbird
* Sation - Oh My Oceania
* Sally Hansen - Gray By Gray

See you tomorrow!

Rich Silver Swirls with GALS 21

Hi Goddesses

Oooooh, isn't this one dramatic?

I love the rich, deep, intense colour here, courtesy of Sally Hansen Scarlet Fever, a crimson laced with berry craziness.

This mani uses a GALS plate, number 21, and whilst I love some of the patterns, I wish I'd realised earlier how small the plates are.  For all of you who moan that all the plates are too BIG these days, these are the ones you should try - they're about the same size as the original Bundle Monsters.

The silver is my new favourite stamping polish - Essie No Place Like Chrome.  Man these Essies stamp perfectly - you get a crisp but thick (not as in gooey, but as in ...what's the word ... you get substance) presence.  I can't get enough of it for stamping.

There's something very Victorian drawing room for me about this mani - either way, I love the pay off between the silver and the decadent colour.

Enjoy xx :)
