CROWS TOES - Absolum Your Potions Master

Hi Goddesses

Ccccrrrreeeaaakkkkk it's time to open the vault again lol.  It's criminal this beauty has sat in there so long, I don't even know how he got left behind :(

Absolum is an absolutely delirious glitterbomb, emphasis on the crazy.   The one thing I love the most about Crows Toes is how she overdoes everything - it's all turned up to 11, just like me :)

This is delicious.  Dazzling and obnoxious, this is a kaleidoscope of silver, gold, green, blue, red - it's all here!

A shout out for the base polish - KIKO 336.  This is an amazingly brash blue that is a total dupe for Nails Inc Baker Street, but with a better formula and shine.  Just sayin' :)

Enjoy xx :)

Floral Week - Roses

Hi Goddesses

Today, I am sure, is possibly THE best nail art I've ever done.  It was so good, I kept staring at my paw, and even *I* couldn't believe I'd done it :)

Sadly, today's mani came at a high price.  A couple of hours later - look - on my art hand :(   So this means I'm going to have to post the manis I thought were meh to complete my week, as there's no way I can make that car crash nail look pretty any time soon.  Siiiiiigh.

Anyway, the art, the art.  So, I'd wanted to do roses for the longest time, but you know, I had my doubts as to whether I could pull it off.  I have to say though - VERY happy with the acrylics and the precision they're giving me.  I also used another of the Born Pretty art brushes I was sent for review - I'll be doing a round up post on them soon.

So this started with 2 coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and then I used a medium dotting tool and some KIKOs to create my rose shapes.  I used KIKO 277, 236, 336, 292 and 402.

Once this was dry, I top coated.  Why?  Because acrylic washes off, and if you go wrong, just rinse and repeat!  Lol.  So I sealed in the base of the mani, and then started adding the swirls to my rose shapes.

The last step was to add my leaves.  It looks like I used 2 greens, but I didn't, it's just the variation in the brush stroke and how loaded my brush was.

Finally, some of the nails looked a little bare, so I put some green dots in the white zone.  I have to say, doing this mani was easier than I thought it would be, and I can't wait to try it again.

Digit-al Dozen DOES ..... Art ..... Comic Books

Hi Goddesses

Thank GOD we are getting towards the end of this challenge lol.  It has been gruelling, but, not for the others it would seem.  They have been posting some amazing stuff, so please take the time to check them out at the bottom of the post.

Today's nails were an accident.  I had done my 5 art manis, and whilst I was looking for a stamping plate for the 31DC, stumbled across Cheeky CH47, a crazy little plate filled with Comic Book slogans such as Pow and Bang  and Bam.

I felt that comic book nails deserved bright primary colours,  mainly Barry Ms - Blood Orange, (KIKO 336), Shocking Pink, Block Orange and Spring Green.

As I started stamping with the white, there seemed to be too much blank space, so I decided to dab on a few patches of black polish and then stamp over the black, mainly to get a little variety.  It was one of those whimsical decisions that makes a lot of difference, and really takes it to the comic book level, where you regularly see the white text on a black background.

So that leaves me with 2 manis to choose from for tomorrow, both of which I am meh about - the blue cubism mani and the Japanese Screenprint mani.  I think I'm gonna go with the latter, but you never know lol.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Dozen - and if you don't already, follow them all, as each and every one of them is amazing.

Love xx :)
