Another fabulous glitter from the Muppets Collection, and this one is the total twin of Gettin Miss Piggy With It.  They are identical in every way except their base glitter.

I decided to layer this over Sally Hansen LACEY LILAC as I didn’t like how GMPWI looked on its own. I also wanted to layer it over something pale enough that I would be able to evaluate the small glitter.  The combo works really well, but I do wish I’d done it over a really dark purple – I think that will look stellar!

Divine Swine is a clear base packed with violet micro glitter and silver discs.  You can wear this on its own, but as I say, I thought GMPWI looked a little threadbare on its own, and I would prefer not to spend all afternoon removing the 4 layers that would be necessary for full opacity.

This has a remarkably smooth feel for a glitter, and like the other Muppet glitters, you might find you need to dab this on, rather than spreading it on.

I don’t quite wow this one like I thought I would, but it’s still a keeper.  I think I need to get my purple lorryload of polishes out to find the ones it works best with.

Another Muppets marvel for you.  This is GETTING MISS PIGGY WITH IT, a sensational red glitter.

Firstly, this isn’t just red, this is RED!!!!!! A super vibrant, bright red glitter, sprinkled with round silver discs.

You can use this on its own, or layered.  Personally, I prefer it layered, and I think we have a lot of fun ahead of us with that in mind!  It’s on its own on the thumb (2 coats) and I just didn’t like it.  I thought it looked a little threadbare, and also that the glitter looked too “individual” – it was as if I could see each of 1000 pieces.

On the other fingers it’s layered over 1 coat of Sally Hansen RIGHT SAID RED, a bright red.  Personally, I think it looks loads better, because it smoothes the red glitter out without diminishing its intensity.  I also think it makes it easier to see how fiery the sparkle is.  I think this is going to look A-MAAAAY-ZINGGG over black.

Although I love silver, I’m not sure it was the right choice in this polish.  I don’t know whether something warmer and golder would have looked better ?  The silver seems to stand out very starkly, and I can’t decide whether that makes me love it all the more, or wish it were different.

Of course, this has got Christmas written all over it.  It’s also a great party polish.  I have a feeling I might tire of it eventually, but in the meantime I am soooo grateful OPI pulled their finger out their asses and made some truly fabulous polishes before the year ran out.

I’ve been a bit quiet this week, but boy am I about to make up for it!  I’ve also received the most epic nail mail of all epic nail mails AND The Muppets Collections and will post pics this weekend.

So, my first polish from Janet that I’m going to share with you is NOPI’s Sensational Scarlet which MORE than lives up to its name.  Why does Scarlet sound so much more amazing than red ?  Lol, I dunno, but it dooooo J

This is a brilliant ruby polish crammed with shattered holo glitter pieces.  This catches the light like fairies on acid and is soooooooo outright SENSATIONAL that it defies words.  But I’ll still try.

In the bottle this looks like pure crushed velvet.  It’s the colour of Christmas and the texture of magic.  It’s ruby jewels for your nails.  It’s liquid fire catching the light, and red volts firing off your nails.  It’s not just sensational, it’s scandalously good.

The holo in this is amazing.  This is not a holo polish, but a polish packed with holo glitter.  Mostly this burns crimson and fiery, but sometimes it flashes lilac, sometimes white-hot, and sometimes it just SHINES.  Sigh.  There are no words for how outrageously gifted this baby is.

I have had a REALLY hard job trying to take photos that do her justice.  Sensational Scarlet looks most amazing in natural sunlight, and as it’s October and I’m in England …. Yeh, exactly.  Under artificial light she also looks amazing, but didn’t photograph amazing – she certainly doesn’t look that gritty in real life.  I’ve deliberately posted some blurred shots, because it gives you a better idea of the holo effect of the glitter.

There is some grittiness – she’s rammed with glitter, after all – and I used 2 coats of Poshe and then refused to use more!   I may just have to invest in some Gelous.

Perfect for Christmas?  Yes, but pretty much just perfect, period.
