Holy Jizz!

Hi Goddesses

Blame Claire!!  She made me do it!!  Lol.  Ha ha.  I made this amazing franken, and that was Claire's exclamation when she saw it ... and it stuck.  Apologies if it offends anyone, that wasn't the intention, but we thought it was too funny to resist.

Ever since I first saw Rebecca Likes Cupcakes, I've wanted to do the same to a purple.  Sadly, I've never quite found the right purple to do it with, but after I bought 250 bottles of polish for frankening, I didn't have that problem anymore!

I honestly can't even tell you what went into this polish - there are at least 3 purples in here, and about 5 types of glitter, with Milani Gems being the main one.

The thumb is by far my favourite - it's got the best mix of glitter.  And doesn't the bottle look AMAZING - it's just happiness in a can :)

I am super happy with how this turned out - just looking at it makes me drool and tilt my head to the side.

Purple AND glitter - who can resist ?

Enjoy (even YOU Momma) xx  :)

THAT'S More Like It !! Black Knight franken

Hi Goddesses

Sometime waaaaay back in November, I posted Butter London The Black Knight (here) and I was, to put it mildly, a little disappointed.  I just didn't like how black the base was, and how it was nowhere near as purple as the publicity shots.

Amusingly, it's still one of my Top 5 most viewed posts, which just goes to show I was in the minority lol, but ever since, I've been meaning to franken it with a PURPLE base, so that it looks as good as it always did in my head.

The recipe for this is beyond simple.  Take half a bottle of a purple of your choice (Color Club Electronica) and add at least the same quantity again of Sally Hansen Rockstar Pink.  Shake.  Rattle.   Rollllllll it between your palms (yeh, see what I did there) and then shake it again.

This looks GAWGEOUS in the bottle, although I have NO idea where the blue specks came from - have they been in the SH all along without my knowing ???

There's TONS of sparkle on the nail, flashes of blue and pink and every colour in between. I used Gelous as my top coat to shine it up a bit, otherwise it dries quite flat.

So ... side by side, which do YOU prefer ?

Enjoy xxx  :)

Hallowe'en Franken - Witches Blood

Nail Fun

FRANKEN TIME – Witches Blood

Hi Goddesses

This is a franken Beth and I did a few weeks ago.  At the time, it was just too summery to wear, but now that we’re approaching Hallowe’en, it’s PERFECT.

This is called Witches Blood.  It’s basically a VERY dark red, with sprinkles in it.  Let me tell you more …

This started with about half a bottle of Sally Hansen FLIRT, which is my go-to vampy dark red.  It’s super deeply pigmented – if you haven’t got it, get it!  It then had half a bottle of Sinful Colors HOTTIE poured into it.

HOTTIE is one of my secret frankening ingredients.  It’s a blue jelly crammed with glitter (a bit like a blitz-blended Last Friday Night) and when you add it to other colours – wow, it just explodes like fireworks!

As you can see, this makes Witches Blood flash blue, purple, pink and orange – love it!

It’s a fair few weeks ago now, but I think we also brightened this up with a bit of a bright red (probably CG Salsa) and maybe a little bit of Sinful Colors UFO (which does the same explosion thing as Hottie).

So, what do you think?  I’m not modest so I’m going to say it loud and proud – I LOVE this !!  I can see me wearing this a lot.  It’s even going to look amazing on toes J

And call me foolish, but I decided after this that I didn’t need China Glaze Crystal Ball – although the later has some holo sparkliness going on, I thought they were too similar to keep both – eeeek !

Enjoy xx

Zombie Snot - you asked for it!

Nails I Love

FRANKENING ….. Zombie Snot !!  Achoooo!

Hi Goddesses

A couple of weeks ago, I posted my Zombie Blood mani for PAA, and quite a few people (the legendary Nail Nerd included) commented that it also looked a lot like a zombie had sneezed on my nails J  Beth found this hilarious, and when we next sat down to franken, her only answer to the question of “what shall we make” was “Zombie Snot” !

Lol .. I’d love to blame it all on her, really I would, but I, the adult, was with her every step of the way J  You can see the concoction is quite transparent on the nail, like real snot, and the glitter *could* be bogies, right ?

We started with an opalescent Essence mini varnish and added about 5 drops of China Glaze Starboard to it.  I’m really pleased how this blended – exactly the right sort of gruesome colour.  We then added a gulp of 2 KleanColors – Peaceful Heart (a clear greeny jelly with large glitter peces) and Firework, an intense glitterbomb of gold, turquoise and orange.

I then played around some more, as you do, and layered the snot over some greeny colours – OPI Stranger Tides, Starboard, Zoya Dree and Color Club Twiggie.

I really like how it turned out as a layering polish.

So what’s your favourite – Zombie Snot, or Zombie Blood lol ?

Enjoy xx achooo J

Top Tip – if you’re ever unsure what a nail colour looks like, go to Google images, which will give you plenty of contrasts and compares.
