31DC2015 Day 5 - Dotting Tools

Hi Goddesses

Ugh Monday and back at work BUT behold possibly the best nail art I have ever done!

This nail art makes me insanely happy.  It's bold, it's bright, it's cheerful.  It's easy to do, it's happy, and I've already done 3 variations lol.

Today's prompt is dotting tools, which I use a LOT.  I didn't want to do ANOTHER dotticure, and as I looked through my Pinterest, I remembered how much I love the big flowers that Alice at One Nail To Rule Them All does - so some inspiration is definitely owed to THIS photo.

I just want to give a shout out here to my base colour - Barry M Gelly Coconut.  It's become my staple for nail art bases.  Is it as good as OPI My Vampire Is Buff?  Well, it's AS good, but cheaper, so I am really chuffed us UK girls now have a great and affordable version!

To the colours -

- red - OPI Fashion A Bow
- pink - NOPI Pink.  Seriously
- orange - OPI Hot & Spicy
- magenta - Pahlish Petropolis
- purple - Different Dimension Pulsar
- green - Sally Hansen Grass Slipper

After I'd done this mani (and cursed the minor streaking from the matte top coat), I decided I didn't really like the index and pinkie fingers, but with hindsight, I really do.  I also find the purple a little toooo dark ... but you live and you learn!

I just adore this mani.  It's not often I'll stand up and say I'm proud of what I've done, but today, I am suuuuuuuper happy and proud :)

#52WPNMC - Camouflage - Pahlish Petropolis

Hi Goddesses

Wuff, it's a busy week.  It's almost inconvenient to do these nail art posts as well lol.  But I'm glad I am, as I LURVE today's.

Camo patterns are REALLY easy to do because they fall into that non-exact / messy category of nail art which I so love. I particularly love camo patterns when they are in unexpected colours - such as this one.

For weeks now, I knew what I was going to do for this prompt.  I have a top which has a camo-ish pattern on it using white, beige, dark brown, reddish-orange and bright pink.  Perfect!

For the eagle-eyed amongst you, this is not that pattern.  Why?  Well because I couldn't be bothered to get my arse out of the chair in the nail room to find a dark brown polish.  True life tragedy.  Instead, I extended my hand 2 inches to the left and picked 3 polishes from my birthday treat box.

So, instead, we have an all Pahlish camo, over a white base.  We have the creamy beige Shallow Lands, the lovely muted pink of Move Slow and Steady, and the SCREAMING OUT LOUD amazeballness of Petropolis.   I did my pattern with a 00 size nail brush.

Now for the tragedy.  My camera hates Petropolis. Me, I think I might wear it for life.  It's a tropical violet-magenta, very similar to Sarey's Berry (which my camera didnt' like either), and in real life this mani POPS with crazy fuchsianess and leans far less blue.

Other than that, I LOVES IT !!!!!
