Best of 2012 - Purple Polishes (non glitters)

Hi Goddesses

As you would expect, I've had to split my favourite purples of the year into 2 posts (surprisingly I've had to do this for the blues, too).  Today sees the purples that are NOT glitters.

Despite my love of all polishes purple, a lot of my purplishes ended up untried this year.  There's even some in this post that I know I've only used for art rather than a full mani.  Some of them didn't even make it onto the blog!  As usual, click the name of the polish to be taken to the post (if there is one!).

One of the last polishes I bought this year ended up being one of my very favourites.  Everything you love about Zoya Kelly, but better.  Stunning.

Stunning and devilishly glossy.  Pure dark forbidden fruit.  Pretty much opaque in one coat, and stamps well too.  What more could you ask for ?

KIKO - 334 Dark Violet

I discovered KIKO in a big way over the last couple of months.  Their speciality is super saturated purples and blues, and this is awesome.  I've used this in lots of nail art since I bought it.

Barry M - Magnetic Purple

This is a magnetic polish that's gorgeous enough to wear just as a polish.  Super suedey and a really lovely cold tone of purple.

Bettina 191

Gorgeously dark - I've used this in a lot of nail art, including twice in 30 Days of Purple.

Still fairly dark, but lit from within with swirly petrol-tones.

Weird name, intense colour.   Super indigo on steriods.  So saturated it freaks the camera out.   Legendary.

I dooooo so love them all :)  See you tomorrow for the glitters, they be purdy too :)

Enjoy xx :)

Superheroes and Villains - Marvel Villain

Hi Goddesses

Oh boy, here we go.  This is a challenge and a half lol.  4 weeks of Superheroes and Super-villains.  1 week each for Marvel, DC Comics, Disney and then a freestyle week.   It sounded so much fun ..... especially as we have a kick ass cast of British Polish Blogging Super-Goddesses.

Until I had to actually do it lol.   Annoyingly, I found that most of the characters I wanted to do fit into just 1 of the eight categories, so it's been real thinking cap stuff.  God bless the geekworld and their wonderful websites of lists and lists and lists of characters - without them, I'd have been screwed.

Let me just put this out there, right now - this is just about the lamest post you're ever going to read from me lol.  I could NOT find a character that I knew enough about so in the end I settled on Magneto, who is apparently one of the villains in X-men, though I have no idea whether he's the one from Star Trek or Gandalf.

Anywaaaaaaay, I had no idea who he was or what to do for my nails, and then it hit me like a Flash (a-haaaaaa) - Magneto / magnetics.  So yup, this post is an excuse to try out my 4 new Barry M magnetics.

Super Comic Book Geek fans, I am SOOOOOO sorry, you have no idea how much I tried on Sunday to be inspired, but it just didn't work.  So yes, this one's lame, but Thursday's isn't - ok ?  Do we have a deal ?

I'm going to do a separate post later in the month on these babies, because I was VERY impressed, both with the polish AND the pattern on the magnet (I'm particularly loving how cool the index finger looks).   Left to right you have Dark Silver, Purple, Blue and Burgundy - hey, it's Barry, what do you expect ?!

So, yes, if you want to know more about this Magneto chap, here's a link .... trust me, I have a MUCH better mani lined up for the Hero, on Thursday :)

Don't forget to check out the other WonderGirls .... you just KNOW Sammy is gonna shame my ass today!

Enjoy xx :)
