And welcome! Isn't that just the catchiest blog title you've read in ages hahahaha. Today's post is a double whammy - some holo gradient nail art, with stamping on top - all from my top polish loves.
As is fitting, Literary Lacquers is the only brand to feature twice this week. My love for Amy is like no other. I also today have Indigo Bananas, and Grace-full Nail Polish, 2 of my other very favourite brands.
Do you own Literary Lacquers or Indigo Bananas? If you don't, you really should. Amy and Andrea are, for me, twins. They both make polishes with a "less is more" sensibility, and are also able to see what's just around the corner in terms of new and exciting, and subtle twists. That's why with Amy you get her amazing "crunchy holos" - the perfect mix of glitter and holo, and why with Andrea you'll gasp at a secret shimmer or flakie which is unlike anything you've ever seen before.
Grace-full Nail Polish had a STONKING 2015. If I'd written my end of year posts, Theresa's Happily Ever After holo collection would have been my collection of the year. I wore it more than any other, and the polishes just worked so well together. Theresa has really become a holo mistress, and if you're looking for consistently fab and epic holos, she is definitely where to look.
So in my little painted gradient, I chose some of my favourites from each brand -
Literary Lacquers - Greatest Treasures - the polish that started my love affair with the brand
Literary Lacquers - Veronika - a stonking purple from her most recent collection
Indigo Bananas - Volcanic Corruption - a terrific fiery red
Grace-full Nail Polish - Magenta Sparks, a stunning cerise
Whilst I loved the holo fruit pastille lollipop I was wearing, of course I had to stamp over it, and I chose Illusion 04 from MoYou, one of my favourite MoYou plates.
MoYou totally changed the stamping plate market, and their semi-weekly releases were genius and financially crippling! They brought a level of inventiveness to the market that hadn't been seen before, and for me they are utter game-changers, as well as being 100% reliable in terms of quality.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Over here, it's very quiet now that Baby Crumpet has gone to spend a few days with her dad, but that has allowed me to do loads of manis for next year's challenges .... and read! yes, read!
I wasn't going to post a NYE mani, but as I was clearing out the vault, I found this nail art, which I did in the summer. I was sent some Born Pretty plates for review, and I'm not going to lie, I really struggled to pick up the images with these, although I'm not sure whether that was the fault of the plates or the extreme heat we had in the UK at the time.
So this is Born Pretty BPL-021 and BP-72 over a painted gradient featuring 2 polishes from Grace-full Nail Polish - Coral Castle and Crowning Glory.
Maybe not your traditional NYE mani, but since we first read Cinderella, which of us hasn't dreamt of a ballgown, a prince, and the swooniest kiss at the stroke of midnight?

A simple and quick look today.
Often, we strive for perfection, but you know what? Usually, messy is more interesting, and I fell in love with these scruffy chevrons I found on Pinterest.
Annoyingly, it took me til the middle finger to really hit my stride, and I love the middle and ring fingers (index and thumb are a little too conventional!).
I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Grace-full Nail Polish Jacinta, and then matted them for the final effect.
The REALLY annoying thing? When I was searching my stamping plates I found this EXACT design on Winstonia W203 - doh!

Today is the 2nd week of the 40 Great Nail Ideas nail challenge. Thank you so much for your positive responses last week - do you want to see the final collage? Here it is -
Doesn't it look AMAZING? Today we are on the 2nd half of the challenge which involves COLOURS. Whereas last week we did a THEME (hobbies) this week, we are all doing TEAL. With a twist. Yes, the twist is we all have to do a different nail art pattern for the prompt! How cool is that? Once the collage is done, there will be over 40 examples of how to do a teal mani!
My teal is the STUNNING Vampire of New England by Grace-full Nail Polish. It's deliciously dark and intense and felt perfectly witchy on my nails.
My pattern prompt was accent and I had a total mind-block. Why? Well because everything I could think of was somebody ELSE'S pattern ... so in the end I started doing a mermaid dotticure on the ring finger, using about 6 other teals. Turns out when you do a mermaid pattern without letting it dry you get .... moosh. Yup, so here's my mooosh accent nail lol.
