Literary Lacquers Skittle - Aunt Beast meets Megatron

Hi Goddesses

As I've mentioned, I had the best time a few weeks ago playing with the new Wrinkle In Time collection from Literary Lacquers.  All the polishes play with each other so nicely that nail art was BOUND to happen.

This is the first of many, and it's so simple, it might just be my favourite.

This features Aunt Beast and the purple drama of Megatron (which is slightly muted by sitting on Auntie's base).   I especially love how gritty Aunt Beast looks in these photos.  She's completely smooth to the touch, but I love how she looks a little bit dirty.

I did some zig zag chevrons using my nail stickers, and then did something I don't often do - picked out some matching rhinestones for the other nails.

Top tip - I obeyed the Nailasaurus and used tweezers to place my stickers.  It really was easier, and much simpler to get them to move 1mm to the left too!

The Digit-al Dozen 2nd Anniversary - Sapphires

Hi Goddesses

Welcome to day 3 of Digit-al Dozen Week, as chosen by you, and today you chose sapphires, as it’s the official birthstone of September.

I only had one idea for this, and that was to follow a tutorial Sarah Chalkboard Nails had done on gemstones – but Emily got there first lol!  Make sure you check The Lacquerologist out in the links below.

So that left me …. thinking.  Sapphire isn’t my favourite gem or colour, but eventually I thought I’d do something fun and very un-Crumpet-y and create some sapphire engagement rings on my nails.

Unfortunately I didn’t have any super large gems, so that’s why some of them are lined up to make a square or a rectangle.   At the end of the day, this mani is pure whimsy – I certainly wouldn’t claim to “like” it – but it fits.

Which ring would you want lol?

Don’t forget to check out the other DD goddesses below -
