Hi Goddesses

Boy did I make this one difficult on myself!  Everyone knows my defining colour is purple (did that in 30 Days of Purple) and that my defining style is a Splodger (did a Splodgerama tutorial recently).

So that kind of left me puzzling for a bit - too long and too hard actually - so in the end I just decided to do what should be done, and do a purple splodgerama lol.

Small recap - splodgerama involves sponging colours semi-randomly onto your nails to create an overall effect which is splodgey.

As I'd used so many of my favourite colours in November, I decided to do an exclusively KIKO splodgerama.    KIKO ROCK at blues and purples so it was an easy choice.  Unfortunately, KIKO don't really name their polishes, so here are those sexy numbers - 

As always, I picked the palest colour as my base, and then started sponging on the other colours, starting with the darkest.  I left the sparkly KIKO til the end, as I wanted that to catch the light of the camera.

Finally, I went back and dabbed teeny amounts of colour here and there to balance out the overall effect.  Et voila.

Super easy, super lazy.  I love 'em!!

30 Days of Purple - Day 23 - Graphic Equaliser

Sorry there was no post yesterday, I spent the whole day battling a vicious tummy bug, and literally got home from work, crawled up the stairs, and rolled onto my pillow. 

I'm hoping to make this weekend a catch up weekend.  I have soooo much blogging I'm behind on, so prepare for reviews, spam posts and general putting it all out there lol.

A couple of weeks ago, The Digit-al Dozen did MUSIC, and one of my (and your) favourite manis that I did was THIS graphic equaliser.

I was so in love with it, that I didn't want to take it off.  So I recycled it instead :)  I kept the thumb and little finger as they were, and then redid the middle 3 fingers :)  For a little variety, I did those dots descending.

I used my beloved KIKOs for the dotting - for the most part, they show up amazing against the black, although the darker purple was having some issues.  I used 332, 338 and 335.

The 335 was really intense, and although you could see it fabulously in real life, you'll notice that the camera ate it up in most of the shots, so here's a photo with the settings upped to craaaaaaazy, so that you at least know it's there !!

Again, a very simple mani, but one that makes me stupidly happy.

30 Days of Purple - Day 10 - Recycled Nails

As you know, I'm a big fan of Recycled Nails, and today's blog post reuses the KIKO gradient you originally saw HERE on Day 2, which used KIKO 332, 333 and 338.

This mani actually got recycled twice lol.  It was just too pretty!  The first thing I did was layer the gradient with a soft glitter.  For this I used Darling Diva Polish Soft Kitty, with a ring accent nail of Carrie.

I love how delicate this is, and actually, it works really well with the base.

For my stamping, I knew I wanted to use silver, and a pattern that would still allow the gradient to shine through, and eventually I found this pattern on Lealac LLC-B.

Everything about this combination seems to work, from the gradient, to the glitter, to the subtlety of the stamping.

30 Days of Purple Meets The Sat-ART-Day Club - Brands or Logos

Well isn't that just the catchiest blog title EVER lol ?  I hope every one is safe and well this Saturday morning.   

I decided to combine my Sat-ART-Day Club post with my 30 Days of Purple post today, for no other reason than to save time.  My daughter is still poorly, so mummy hugs are high on the agenda today.

I forget who chose this week's theme, but at the time I thought it was genius.  Needless to say, the closer it got to actually doing it, the harder it got!   I really struggled for inspiration, possibly because there's no one brand out there that I have a particular loyalty too, so in the end, what's a nail blogger to do but do some nail art based on polish brands :)

So, 5 different bottle shapes, all based on a different brand.  I'm really tempted not to tell you which bottles they are, just to see if anyone can guess.  They've come out "reasonably" well, although some are better than others !

I used KIKO 338 and 333, for no other reason than that they were on the desk!

So, guess away, and I'll leave the answer in the comments soon :)  and by the way, Beth guessed them ALL aaaah, a true polish blogger's daughter :)

30 Days Of Purple - Day 2 - Gradient

Apologies for the late posting today.  Beth came back from her daddy's, so we've had gossip, hugs and kisses to catch up on, then we went to the hairdressers, and then to top it all, she's a poorly Boo Boo too.  She's come back with a cough that's like a cross between a bark and a quack, so she's feeling justifiably sorry for herself an in need of more mummy huggles.

Today's purple is all about the KIKO.   KIKO was a brand I had often seen European bloggers wear and lusted after, but didn't realise you could get in the UK.  Not only that, they were recently £1.50.  So I may have bought "a few" ......

The KIKO formula is fabulous - thick but not gloopy, deliciously creamy - and the colour is intense on overload.   The only thing I HATE is that they give their polish numbers rather than names.  On the website, they do list the names - "indigo", "gray green", they clearly went to school with Barry and his M - but they only go with the number on the bottle gggrrrrr.

For the gradient I started with 2 coats of 338 Light Lavender.  This is a gorgeous creamy blue toned lavender.  I then used 332 Dark Violet and 333 Brilliant Violet with the 338 for my gradient.

As usual, I painted 3 thick stripes on my plastic surface, smooshed my sponge into them, and then placed the sponge on the nail.   I did this between 2 and 3 times for each nail, until I was happy with the colour saturation.   Also, one of the nails looked too distinct, so I sponged again, from a slightly different angle to give a bit more blurring.

I loved the mix of these colours - it's like they were made for this mani!  Stay tuned, cos I might have recycled it for later in the month :)
