25 Days of Bloggers and My Favourite Blog of the Year

Hi Goddesses

Today we have a very special final edition of 25 Days of Bloggers.  The last blogger to be celebrated is also the lady who is my blogger of the year.

Behold, Jacki of Adventures in Acetone.

Jacki has just gone from strength to strength this year, drawing inspiration from Doctor Who and other cultdoms, her children, and amazing polishes.  She's one of the most inventive swatchers I know, and she also has an innate grasp of which colours will work well together, creating colour combos I would never have dreamt of.

So, let's do this the proper way round, THIS is why you should follow Jacki -

- amazing nail art

- fabulous nail art tutorials

- nice mix of patterns, gradients and mushes, meaning there is something for all

- amazing drawing skills

Here's Jacki, in her own words -

Adventures In Acetone is primarily a nail art blog with some swatches and nail art tutorials thrown in. Being a mother of 2 young children, you will find my style is mostly “cutesy” and a lot of my tutorials reflect that as well. I also love Doctor Who and have done a lot of DW inspired nail art.

Let's start then with her Doctor Who and cult manis -

Doctor Who Nail Art!! #Doctorwho50th #DoctorWho #DW

Here are some of my favourite simpler , colour combo and pattern manis

And finally, here's 3 kick ass tutorials

So, all that up there is why Jacki is my blog of the year.  Endlessly inventive, more cute than you can shake a stick at, a real variety of nail art from "I can to that" to "you must be bloody joking".   She has made me shake my head in wonder more times than any other nail artist this year.  AND she's lovely.

25 Days of Bloggers - Wondrously Polished

Hi Goddesses

Do you follow Wondrously Polished?   If you don't, you really should, and here's why -

- incredible nail art

- in fact, nail art so good it will make you cry

- awesome florals and use of bright colours

- crazy attention to detail

Here's Lindsey, in her own words -

I'm Lindsey and I'm an engineer by day and nail polish lover by night! My blog is pretty exclusively a nail polish/nail art blog and it's my attempt to have a creative outlet where I join my analytical mind with my artistic mind. I'd like to think I have a fairly well rounded blog with a good mix of art and swatches, though nail art will always be my passion and the focus of my blog. I'd say my blogging niche is free hand design. I love painting intricate and time consuming looks that push me outside of my comfort zone. And of course, I couldn't live without a good floral nail art look every once in awhile!

If I could have anybody's nail art skills, I think it would be Lindsey.  Whether it's amazing florals, or super detailed landscapes with elephants (really), there is nothing this girl cannot do.  She's a lovely member of the Digit-al Dozen, obsessed with matte top coat, and the world's greatest fan of OPI My Vampire Is Buff.   She's my goddess, and I bow before her.

25 Days of Bloggers - Simply Nailogical

Hi Goddesses

Do you follow Simply Nailogical?   If you don't, you really should, and here's why -

- bold patterns

- gradients that will blow your mind

- inspired use of tape

- superb tutorials

- nail art sooooo good it will make you cry

Here's Cristine, in her own words -

I would say that I started out blogging in February of this year not knowing what my 'niche' was, but grew into loving gradients and trying new challenging patterns and layers to yield a really 'how the heck did you do that?!' effect. Mind-bending gradients, you could say! I also have a fondness for holo and glitter polishes and love to do equally mind-boggling (more like mind-blinding) glitter nail arts. On Instagram I like to have a little fun and be interactive with others by posting memes on nail polish culture, social media culture, and other related things where it's become obvious that I have a thing for parodies and sarcasm. Also, there is no such thing as too many cat videos.

To my shame, I only discovered Cristine's blog 2 months ago, but wow has she blown my away.  There is no disputing she is the gradient queen of all time!

25 Days of Bloggers - The Lacquerologist

Hi Goddesses

Do you follow The Lacquerologist?   If you don't, you really should, and here's why -

- awesome swatches - incl "drugstore" brands

- super simple nail art

- lots of extras, especially nail care

- a really varied content

Here's Emily, in her own words -

The Lacquerologist focuses primarily on nail art and polish reviews, as well as nail care, bath & body, and beauty products.

Emily's has been a blog I've loved for about 18months now.   She puts out an amazing amount of content and is also The Round-Up Queen!  What drew her to me was her super simple looking nail art - and like me, she also has an affinity for things that look messy AND artful.   Oh and she just wrote a book.  As you do.

25 Days of Bloggers - The Dalai Lama's Nails

Hi Goddesses

Do you follow The Dalai Lama's Nails?   If you don't, you really should, and here's why -

- bright, bold nail art

- lovely "doodles"

- clean, uncluttered designs that make me happy

Here's Hannah, in her own words -

The Dalai Lama's Nails is my nail art sanctuary - a celebration of all things nail art and nail polish. I love to do intricate and geometric freehand nail art! The Dalai Lama's Nails is inspired by Tibetan monks who spend many hours assembling geometric art (manadalas) from individual grains of sand and then wipe their designs away as a sign of impermanence. I love the idea of temporary art, and I try to celebrate those ideals through interesting nail art!

Hannah is another Digit-al Dozen alum, and I love each month how she draws her inspiration from such different things.  She's very "cultural", and I love seeing how she draws art from other countries into her manis.
