Hi Goddesses
Whilst I'm moving house, I have some stuff scheduled for you. Ironically, just before my break, I was doing some of my best nail art lol, so lets hope I still remember how when I come back!
This mani was for the Lilac and Green prompt of the 52 Week Challenge and should have gone live on 16 March.
Like a few of my nail art friends, I am a little obsessed with needle drag, but have always struggled with it. Until now. I appear to have accidentally stumbled on a magic formula - do it on bare nails. Seriously. And that way, when it goes wrong, as the ring finger did 5 times, it's easy to wipe off and start again.
Emily aka The Lacquerologist also mentioned she got better results using gel polishes, so when I picked up these 2 beauties from the Sally Hansen Gel line, that's what I tried first of all! (B Girl and Street Flair).
This is by FAR the best needle drag I have ever managed, so much so that I am going to continue to experiment when my neons arrive - mmmmm :)
Hi Goddesses
Today's 52 Week prompt is Geometric, a style I've become strangely drawn to over the months. I've mixed it today with pastels cos I'm still PASTEL ALL THE THINGS !!! Plus, I thought it made a nice contrast to see an angular pattern in soft colours.
The polishes are the bundle that I've had on my nail desk for a while, and are mainly greens, pinks and peaches. It's a collection I threw together, but man they work so well together.
I started with 2 coats of my palest colour polish - OPI You Better Pink - and then added the white lines on top. For my white I used Octopus Nail Party Lacquer Baptism.
I then used a small nail brush to colour in my pieces, one colour at a time.
I really am totally in love with this mani - I didn't want to take it off! Please don't make me! Oh, I already did - oops!
Hi Goddesses
It's been a weird week this week. For the first time in ages, I've not had a lot of motivation for blogging or painting my nails. I'm going to 100% blame it on this horrendous cold I've had, as some days I haven't felt motivated to do anything!
This week's 2nd prompt for the 52 Week Challenge is purple, and I dug a long forgotten (and never used) gem out of my collection - Different Dimension Orchid You Not.
It's a lovely bright purple with violet tinges to it. I sometimes get a bit jaded with purple holos, because I own so many of them, but this one was a nice change.
As this week's other 52 Week prompt was hearts, I did some multi-colour stamping, using 3 MoYou stamping polishes and MoYou Punk 06 plate.
I love the finished result, that it has a slightly tattered and edgy look, and isn't too cutesy.
Hi Goddesses
I've recently gone a bit pastel-mental. I don't know whether it's a yearning for Spring or renewal, but I recently separated all my pastels out into a separate box so that I could drool over them and use them for the next few weeks.
In doing so, I found a polish I had kind of forgotten I had, and DEFINITELY forgotten its level of spectacular.
China Glaze Sea Spray is the most amazing pale blue, greyed in tone, but laden with shimmer. It's truly gorgeous, and you should try to grab it if you can.
I thought this would make a really springlike dotticure, so I created some large white dots and then centred them with smaller dots of Barry M Dragon.
Once I'd glossed it, it was all a little but too much, so I matted it and LOVE the final result.
Happy Spring People!
