Indigo Bananas - Wise Up, Janet, Electric Unicorns and Hot Ice Creams for Cold Days

Hi Goddesses

Today's post is a labour of love.  I was recently sent 6 Indigo Bananas polishes to review, and I am utterly head over heels with them.  So much so that I then went and placed a whopping order!

Today we have 3 of them, 3 stunners, 3 amazepols, 3 ooooh-la-laaaaaas that are probably my favourite 3 from the 6, and YES they are all summer / spring appropriate (is it just me, or has anyone else already shuffled all the dark colours off to one side lol).

Before I hit the swatches, I just want to explain why I have fallen sooooo deeply in love with this brand.  As you know, I've gone through a real "end of the affair" with glitter, and have been looking for something different but wow.  Well, IB goes on as smooth as a baby's bottom, the colour saturation is epic, and best of all, all sorts of magic are woven into the polish - flakies, flecks, micro glitter - texture within texture, if you will.   Yet none of it competes with itself or cancels another ingredient out, and I'll talk about this more with some of the individual polishes coming up.  Ready?   Seriously, cos you'll be buying after this, I promise you :)

We start with Wise Up, Janet, a delicious pinky-mauvey-lilacy holo.  With flakies.  Now, what's interesting is that in real life, the flakies are very obvious.  On the camera, not so much.  Ooooh, secret magic!

This is a great example of 2 ingredients that could have cancelled each other out.  I've only tried one holo with glitter before, and I didn't like it, because I couldn't fully appreciate the holo, and I couldn't fully appreciate the glitter - they just interrupted each other.

Here though, they meld together, as if the flakies are a second skin.  You can see that the holo bend is not interrupted AT ALL.  Even if you already own this shade, you'll love the subtle pay off of the ingredients.

Electric Unicorns!!!  OMG, how do I love thee?  This is probably the perfect Spring polish for me - lilac, turned up to 11.

I am a little saddened that my photos don't capture quite how bright and awesome this polish is.  Literally, it sizzles with electricity, making its name just about perfect.   The camera I think was a little overwhelmed when it saw the flakies -

Oh yeh, the flakies!  This is laden with opalescent flakies, sparklebombing the polish with all sorts of pastel wizardry and sizzledry.    It's just amazing.  So fresh.

And finally for this post, Hot Ice Creams for Cold Days.   This polish ... I don't even know where to begin.  It's like nothing else I've ever seen before in terms of complexity, and it had me TRANSFIXED when I was wearing it.  This is a polish with so much win, so much variety.

Ok, strawberry pink holo base.  Very lovely, very bendy.  Then add multi coloured dot glitter.  But careful Goldilocks.  Not too much, and not too little - let's get it juuuuuuust right.

And somehow, she did.  It's unfathomable to me how this polish works.  The glitter should compete with the holo and destroy its subtlety, yet somehow, they're schmoozed together in a tangle of love that is sheer exquisiteness.

So, as you might guess, I am loving these A LOT.  I don't just like them, I REALLY LOVE THEM, and at least 2 of these will make it to my end of year lists, and that's BEFORE we get to the other 3 polishes I have to show you!

You can follow Indigo Bananas on Facebook HERE and buy buy buy all the polishes HERE.  Seriously, her range is is a smorgasbord of crazy happy colour, and the quality is A+.  Oh, and she's just released some flakie top coats ......
