Digit-al Dozen DOES Nature EXTRA - Baby Crumpet Style

Hi Goddesses

Well the DD Week can't officially end until Beth has done a mani, and this is one she did on my nails to fit this theme.

Beth is obsessed with animals and nature, so it was actually quite hard for her to narrow this down.

As I watch her (and try to suck in my control freak), it amazes me to watch how she instantly does some things better than me, with a finer touch, or just with a better conceptual awareness.  Take the fish on my index nail - as I watched her doing it, it was a real Homer DOH moment that I hadn't grasped that simplicity myself, and sooner.

For the record, we have -

thumb - beach, sea, midnight sky
index - fish and reeds
middle - bunny!!!!
ring - she sort of lost track here lol
pinkie - chicky chicky!

Enjoy xx

Digit-al Dozen DOES Nature - Spring Flowers

Hi Goddesses

For several weeks now, on my nail desk, I've had a bunch of about 12 polishes gathered together.  All pastels, green, peach and pink, they complement each other perfectly and gave me LOADS of nail art inspiration, of which today's mani is one.

I've done this style of mani before.  Not only is it easy, it's a real delight to do.

The base was a splodged mixture of the greens you see, over a base of Barry M Coconut.

Once that was dry, I added overlapping, 5-dotted flowers in the peaches and pinks, with a small white dot in the centre.

In real life, this mani looked GREAT, but as seems to happen more and more these days, it would not photograph in all its glory.  Glossy, it looked too glassy, and matte it looked too .... dry (or is that just my cuticles).    I also hated how many HAIRS the mani had on it lol - I don't think Bluebelle has ever managed to sabotage a mani to this degree before lol.

I hope you've enjoyed this week.  You can probably expect me to be quiet for another week or 2 while I get myself sorted out.  I do have loads of nail art I haven't posted, as well as at least 6 sets of reviews to show you, so I will be back ... in some format of myself.

Enjoy the start of Spring, and I will see you soon xxxx

Digit-al Dozen DOES Nature - The Leafiness of a Leaf

Hi Goddesses

And welcome to a tale of a mani which did not start out this way, or with this intention, but which I still think is pretty cool!

The base of this mani is a green distressed mani I did for the 52 Week Pick n Mix Challenge a few weeks ago.  It features the incredible Different Dimension Light Year on base, the gold of which completely steals the show here.

It's playing nicely with Jardim Botanico by Pahlish and My Dogsled Is A Hybrid by OPI.

The stamping is a from Vivid Lacquer VL033, a gorgeous plate featuring a mixture of floral and butterfly designs.  Now, I suspect this image is actually the intricacies of a butterfly's wings, but in green, on a green base, it suddenly looked like the inner scaffolding of a leaf.

Digit-al Dozen DOES Nature - Birds of a Feather

Hi Goddesses

Happy Hump Day and welcome to a mani which ALMOST became part of last month's Pattern on Pattern DD Challenge.

The base for this mani is this gorgeous feathered stamping I did as part of the January 31DC using the EPIC Messy Mansion MM14 plate.

Said plate also features a stamp of birds on a wire, and it was too irresistible to not overlap them.

I'm not overly successful when it comes to double stamping (there are some crazy good ladies out there), but I really feel I nailed it with this one.

Digit-al Dozen DOES Nature - Bright Flowers

Hi Goddesses

You may squint at today's manicure and wonder if you've seen it before, and the answer is yes .... and no.   I did 2 very similar manis for the 31DC in January, and this is a variation I did, taking it to the brightest extreme.

There's something about this pattern that just makes me smile.  Not a little smile either, but a great big HAPPY smile.  The pattern is super simple to do, and looks great in any colour mix.

The polishes are -

Barry M Coconut
OPI Fashion A Bow (red)
OPI Hot & Spicy (orange)
NOPI Pink. Seriously.

The only minor annoyage with this mani is the slight streaking.  I don't usually get streaks from my top coat, but I am assuming it happened here because the dots used to create the flowers were quite thick and dense.

Happy Flower Day!
