OPI Nail Art - Watercolour Nails

Hi Goddesses

And welcome to the final post featuring the 3 OPI polishes I was sent for review - My Vampire is Buff, Suzi's Hungary Again and Vant To Bite My Neck.

I hope you like that you've seen 5 nail art looks rather than just 3 swatches, but let me know - I'd love to know your thoughts.

Watercolour nails are great and fit right into the splodger category.  You really can't go wrong with them, even if you DO go wrong lol.   I've been asked for a tutorial on them, and I will .... soon.   There's a lot of different hitting the blog soon, and Tutorials are very high on that menu.

This started with 2 coats of Buff and a coat of Poshe.  You need the top coat as a barrier for the next step.  I then dotted on some of the darkest colour and then blobbed acetone on top of it to dilute it and used a smallish nail art brush to move it around.

Once that's dry you can add your second colour, and repeat.   If you're not happy with your colour balance, just keep fiddling til you get the look you're after.  I added a bit more pink to some of these nails and a bit more purple to others. The joy of this look is that random = more :)

If you're in the UK, you can buy these polishes HERE.

I hope you've enjoyed this week :) xx

Literary Lacquers - Roissey

Hi Goddesses

And happy weekend!  I'm going to release the remaining Literary Lacquers posts this weekend.  I can honestly say that out of the 9 polishes I was sent for review, there is only 1 that I really dislike - but we'll come to that in another post :)  I bet you can't guess what colour it was lol.

Today we have another winner.  A BIG winner.  This is Roissey, and wow, she's sensational.   This one is inspired by  The Story of O ... and it certainly made me go "oh" lol.

Roissey is an amazing royal blue polish, loaded with shimmer and then blasted with black shreds.  For me, this is so on trend it hurts.    Even better, in some lights, this takes on a metallic look - the dark light just takes it to another level.

Now, I did have some problems with this polish, but let me be clear, they are blogger problems, not polish problems.   When I wore this to work, I wore 3 layers and it was sublime.  When I photographed it, it looked transparent and I had VNL.  I take my hand from under my lamp.  Huh, opaque and no VNL.  Put it back under the lamp - transparent and VNL.   So I ended up layering it, which you won't need to do, but which added a whole new level of wow anyway.   All the photos you're seeing are the layered ones, and I'll post some "solo" ones at the end.

So, we have -
- thumb - layered over Butter London Royal Navy
- index - layered over Nails Inc Baker Street
- middle - layered over KIKO 336 (total dupe for Baker Street)
- ring - au naturel
- pinkie - layered over KIKO 385

For me, it's the Baker Street / KIKO 336 nails that work best.  They work WITH Roissey, and if anything, just amplify the gorgeousness.

I absolutely love love love this one.

Finally - here's some natural shots.  I tried to pick the best ones out, so that they don't look too sheer.  As I said, this was all to do with my camera and the lighting, NOT the polish.

This polish was sent to me for my honest review and can be purchased HERE.  You can also follow Literary Lacquers on Facebook HERE.

Enjoy xx :)

Literary Lacquers - Laters, Baby

Hi Goddesses

And so we resume our trawl through Literary Lacquer awesomeness.  This is the 3rd holo in The Good Parts Collection, but as we'll see, this one's a little bit different and a whole lot special :)

Apparently, this one is inspired by 50 Shades of Grey, but as I'm probably the only person on the planet not to have read it, I can't comment lol.

Now, Amy describes this a charcoal holo.  I have to say, I'm not sure I 100% agree.  I saw a lot of brown tones in this, and occasional green ones too, making it more of a dark-grey-brown than charcoal.  Holographic bark is what I'd call it :)

The bend in this (as it has been with all the LL holos) is stunning, bringing warmth to an otherwise cold polish.

This one differs from the other LL holos because it also contains very fine holographic glitter.  This means it doesn't have quite as smooth a look, but also gives it something mysterious.

There's something distinctly other worldly about this polish.  It reminds me of soulless galaxies or moonrock or moondust.  It lurks, this polish, in the caverns and the shattered stars, it lurks.

I'm not sure how often I would wear this polish as it's not really in my colour zone.  One thing's for sure though - it FASCINATES me.  I've stared at it and stared at it, and I can't get enough of looking at it.  It's very reptilian and wholly beguiling.  It defies categorisation, and ultimately, that's what makes it sooooo special.

This polish was sent to me for an honest review - enjoy xx :)

OPI Gradient - Suzi's Hungary Again meet Vant To Bite My Neck

Hi Goddesses

Welcome to the long weekend!!  I've got a gorgeous gradient for you today, possibly one of the best I've ever done.

This features 2 of the OPI polishes I was sent for review, which, if you live in the UK, you can purchase HERE.   Suzi's Hungary Again is the pink, and Vant To Bite My Neck is the purple.

I love the effect on some of these nails, that lovely mushy moment in the middle where the colours start to collide and mush together.

These 2 colours were also made for each other - they match each other so well, it would have been rude not to gradient them :)

Tomorrow you can see my final post in this series - watercolour!

Enjoy xx :)
