Introducing the word Burgenta ....

OPI – DS Extravagance

Hi Goddesses

Forgive me, but I am a little Christmassed out. I have managed to get myself a week ahead on the Christmas Challenge but woah I am sick of nail art and concentrating and trying really hard!

So, I feel I have bought myself a few days respite and decided to go with a colour I cannot BELIEVE I haven’t worn yet – OPI DS Extravagance. For this post, and from now on, we are now going to be using a new word – Burgenta.

Burgenta = that gorgeous colour somewhere betwixt burgundy and magenta.  Too light for one, and too dark to be called the other.  Perfect, nonetheless.

This is a truly *beautiful* colour.  It’s a wonderful winey burgenta colour with fire glowing from within.  The photos have really struggled to capture it – even my crazy halogen lights in the kitchen have failed – but this really does glow from the inside out.

My homage to Sarah Chalkboard lol

Whilst the glow is beautiful, it’s also about as holo-tastic as a Milani.  Now whilst I LOVE Milani holos, I don’t expect them to uhmazing because they are relatively cheap.  OPI on the other hand – I expect more holo than a fairy can manufacture in a year, and so I am a leeeetle bit disappointed.

The “glow from within” is the same type of coarse, sugary particles you find in the Milanis, but not the superfine radiance of a Glitter Gal or even of some of the other OPI DS series.

Please don’t get me wrong, this is seriously beautiful, a Top 10 contender, and a rival to polishes like CG Mummy May I and Zoya Roxy …. It’s just that it could have been the most amazingest pretty of all time.

The winey depth is perfect, as is the glow,
Trouble is I’m missing me some holo

Did you like that little poem ?  Oh.  Don’t expect this to be holo.  Expect it to be burgenta sugardust and you’ll be fine J

Enjoy xx J

Top Tip – if you’re ever unsure what a nail colour looks like, go to Google images, which will give you plenty of contrasts and compares.
