Hi Goddesses
And welcome to the 2nd half of my round-up of my favourite stamping manis from this year. Today, we go from May to the end of the year.
Barry M Gelly Rainbow
May saw the arrival of the fabulous Cheeky Jumbo Plates and this is possibly my very favourite stamping mani of the year. Everything about it just works, AND it makes me happy.
Matte Splatter
I really liked this cute little mani I did for Matte Week. Childish, yes, but happy too.
Flowerworks
In blogging, you can do a mani that you love, and no one else comments on it, likes it or even looks at it. Then you can do something that you feel is underwhelming, and EVERYBODY loves it.
That's what happened with this mani. I wasn't sure I liked it. I didn't know if it was flowers of fireworks (so my friend Vic christened it Flowerworks). But you LOVED IT! Like, ridiculously loved it. And then a few weeks ago, Illamasqua shared it for Bonfire Night, and it doesn't even feature any Illamasqua polishes. But man, I felt honoured. So I love that this mani has pleased so many people, even if I have no idea why lol.
Leopard Print again!
This pastel leopard print was the for the July Digit-al Dozen Week and was modelled on a pair of flip flops I'd seen in a magazine. A classic example of The Crumpet splodge as perfect stamping background :)
Holo on Holo Stamping
This mani combines 3 of the best things from this year - a Cheeky Jumbo plate, Above The Curve Wisteria, and a Color Club holo.
Abstract
October and MoYou changed my life forever. These plates really re-ignited my love of stamping and I have found them really inspirational. Ironically, most of my MoYou manis are still in the vault, but they will all come out to play in January. Abstract background, abstract stamp.
Literary Lacquers
I loved the overall effect of this mani, and that Konad orange is just sooo intense.
Tribal
Another magical stamping set - Bundle Monster Create Your Own Collection - which sadly has been a bit neglected because of all my MoYous. Loved this one to pieces.
Mexican
That Mexican Cheeky Jumbo Plate is such fun. Like so many, I haven't used it nearly enough, but it appeared here in the #33DC.
Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey
One of the things I love most about the MoYou plates is that they have created patterns I have wanted to do on my nails, but lacked the skills to do. This is from Artist Collection and is plate 03, and it's one of my favourites. Still, wish I'd done a bit more clean up on this one!
So there you go! I am really looking forward to developing my stamping skills in 2014. Too often, I randomly plonk a stamp on top of a swatch, and I'd like to reverse that, and get to a point where the stamp is The Thing. And with so many plates to choose from .... it's gonna be fun :)
