A British Blogging Christmas - Sarah from Penny Pinching Polishes

Hi Goddesses

Today I have another Sarah for you!  This time it's Sarah from Penny Pinching Polishes, a lovely cheerful blog with some great manis.

*****************************

Hi everyone, I'm really honoured to be appearing on The Crumpet alongside some fabulous other bloggers, and I did have a total fan-girl moment when Debbie said I could join in!  Luckily, I did manage to compose myself long enough to put together some festive nail art for you guys.  I hope you like it!

I started by painting 2 coats of Barry M - Gold Glitter on my thumb, index and pinky finger, and 2 coats of Kleancolor - Metallic Red on my middle and ring finger.  Once those were dry enough to not get ruined, I set about making the little 3D bows.  I grabbed some tinsel shreds left over from last years tree, cut 4 little pieces, and stuck them together with top coat.  (although, if you wanted them to last, you would be better off using nail glue)

Whilst those were drying, I grabbed my striping brush, and filled in the corners of my thumb, index and pinky fingers with Metallic Red, then added some quick dry topcoat.  After a bit more drying time, I grabbed my gold striping tape and outlined the glitter, then added 2 strips to the other fingers.  Then I top coated the whole thing, and used another blob of topcoat to stick the bows in place.  After it was all dry, I decided to add one more piece of tape over the bows, just to make it look a little tidier.
Whilst this isn't the most practical mani, I think it's kind of cute, and they really did look like tiny little presents.  As you would imagine, one of my bows came off overnight, but I think they would last quite well if I had used glue.  I just knew that I would be painting my nails again the next day, and didn't fancy the hassle of removal!  I would have been happier if my striping tape was the same shade of gold as the bows, but I don't think it's too noticeable :p

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and I want to say thanks to Debbie once more for letting me be a part of this, and I hope you all have a fabulous Christmas, whether you celebrate it or not!
