PURPLE
CRUMPET FAIRY CHALLENGE – The 31 Days of Christmas
Day 11 – Christmas
Wrapping
Hi
Goddesses
Christmas
Wrapping is one of my favourite parts of Christmas. It’s the name of a great song by The
Waitresses, which is one of my yuletide faves AND the actual wrapping of
pressies is hard to beat for sheer excitement.
In the UK,
I usually do it on the last Saturday before Christmas, which is the day I put
my tree up, and when the final of the X Factor is usually on (this year it’s 1
week early for some reason) and I *always* have alcohol within easy reach. Now alcohol raises my body temperature, so
there have been years when I have finished wrapping the pressies in just my bra
and pants. Too much information ? Ah, who cares.
The WORST
Christmas wrapping I ever bought looked sooooo gorgeous – burgundy, with raised
burgundy velvet. Hmmmm, have you ever
tried sellotaping velvet? You can, but
then the minute you turn your back on it, it PINGS open again. Majorly frustrating times.
So, you’re
not going to believe this, but this turned out *exactly* as I wanted it to, AND
it’s nail art I am happy to put my name to – yay!
I did
different styles of wrapping paper.
Goddesses, we have …
Thumb – a
base of CG Velvet Bow, a perfect ruby red (thanks Bee), adorned with the word
Ho! As in ho, ho, ho, not “yo ho get my drugs” lol. Silver and gold polish – the silver in all
the manis is CG Cheers to You and the gold is from CC Foiled.
Index – CC
Foiled and then … it’s been hard to capture, but we have dotted Christmas trees
in various shades of green – CG Glittering Garland, CC Foiled and the
surprising fail – CG Laser Lime. The
holo just disappeared against the foil, so I ended up going over it with CC
Foiled. I then dabbed some gold baubles
on.
Middle –
green CC Foiled with CG Glittering Garland holly and Studio M Slammin Red
berries
Ring – an
unexpected win for me, loving the perfect coupling of colours on this
nail. OPI Ogre The Top Blue and CG
Cheers to You silver
Pinkie –
hard to see but this is CG Cheers to You with CG Velvet Bow crackers, dotted
with a bit more silver.
Ta – dah !
Chalkboard
Nails, eat your heart out! Lol, I sooooo
wish. I am nowhere near the majesty of
some the nail art goddesses out there, but I am definitely over the moon with
this one. A step in the right direction
and yes, (hangs head and adopts teenager style mumble) I searched Google images
and worked from pictures … bloody preparation.
Enjoy xx J xx

Top Tip – if you’re
ever unsure what a nail colour looks like, go to Google images, which will give
you plenty of contrasts and compares.
