Wet n Wild BACK ALLEY DEALS

Nails I Love

WET N WILD – Back Alley Deals

Hi Goddesses

I have decided to go a little bit BIGGER lol and to take a central stance J  I only write this thing, but when I’ve gone back and looked at it, I find it quite hard to read.  So, I’ve decided to take the hint from most other bloggers – let me know what you think!

Sooooo, today we have Back Alley Deals from Wet n Wild’s recent  Coloricon ICE Collection.  There are 2 important things to say at the start – this was sent to me my one of the best friends I have made through Facebook / PAA and one of my biggest advocates, the amazing Elizabeth Stern.  Secondly, my camera still can’t photograph purples for shit.

my favourite photo

I did seriously debate whether to do this post without any photos at all – some of them are THAT bad.  I have decided to include them, because they do give you a glimpse of this amazing polish, but you’ll probably get a better idea of this polish if you close your eyes and get someone to read this out to you!

Let me just make this very clear – the polish is not in any way  blue, and there’s at least twice as much glitter as the camera is finding.

Sooooo, this is purple and it’s a glitter.  Any guesses as to whether I might like this lol ??  actually I don’t like it, I LOVE it.  It’s amazing in several ways and I am really reluctant to take it off – mainly because I had to use 3 coats and I just KNOW it’s going to be a pain to remove J

Let me describe this polish for you –
  • It’s violently violent, amazingly so
  • It has a clear base filled with microscopic purple and violet micro glitter and larger violet pieces
  • The larger violet pieces float to the top, fluorescing like radioactive pinkish bacteria – it’s an amazing effect and gives this an incredible wow factor
  • The contrast of the purple base and the violet flecks creates a wondrous effect, almost like how Nubar 2010 turns polishes.  This can really be admired and angled in the light.  Seriously, this is intense

There’s only really one negative.  The bottle.  I love the normal WnW cylinder, but these are stubby little square bottles.  Which is ok, until ….. until you want to put the polish on.  The lid casts a MASSIVE shadow over the puny little brush and it’s really hard to see what you’re doing.  It’s a minor niggle, but it made for quite awkward application.

Also, this dries quite gritty.  I’ve super shined mine up with Gelous and Poshe, but this didn’t stop every nail having a scratchy tip – lots of family required.  You also can’t tell from the photos, but the 2nd day I put a coat of OPI I Juggle … Men on top, and it just made the violet sing at a whole new volume – inspired Crumpeteering!

I loves me this lots and lots and lots.  I cannot over-stress the radioactive element.  I’ve tried to find something on Google to highlight how intense this violet glitter is, and this is the best I can do.

So, enjoy the sucky photos, and buy the polish – you’ll enjoy that even more !!

J

Top Tip – if you’re ever unsure what a nail colour looks like, go to Google images, which will give you plenty of contrasts and compares.
