FIREWORK
WEEK – PURPLE CRUMPET FAIRY CHALLENGE
Hi Goddesses
So this is the 2nd
week of running the Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge, between myself and Claire,
and already we are 3 !! Welcome KerrieBlack who is also joining in. Anyone is
welcome, just drop me or Claire a line via our blogs or Facebook and we will
add you to the group. Basically, we pick
a them each week or set each other challenges.
So, this week on my
blog has been Fireworks Week, and it’s also the theme of today’s PCF
Challenge. I really loved how these
turned out, although none of the photos *quite* captures the mani.
So, to the polishes –
- Black – probably KleanColor black
- Thumb – Pure Ice – Cheatin’
- Index – KleanColor – Firework
- Middle – Funky Fingers – Sand and Stilettos
- Ring – a “so cheap it doesn’t even have a name” glitter from La Femme and an unnamed magenta glitter I got in a bulk buy
- Little finger … let’s move on
For all of these I wanted
to show the whole explosion of the firework, and used my tool of choice – the dotting
tool. I just find them much easier to
use than a brush, and it helps deposit the glitter quite specifically. The nails that to me look the best (thumb and
ring) (not the pinkie? No. Shut up) were the ones done with the
runniest glitter. I like that the harder
it was to apply, the better it looks – I like being rewarded like that lol.
Shall we talk about
the pinkie ? No, let’s not. Why, cos it’s dogshit ? Yes cos it’s …. I had SUCH a cool idea for the
pinkie and it Did Not Work. This was
supposed to be a sparkler, glittery light supplied courtesy of Funky Fingers.
With blinding inspiration, I decided a free nail striper in a bizarre metallic
coffee colour would be awesome for the stick, and did a stripe, only to find it
as wide as half my nail. Siiiiigh. Loved the others enough to not be too arsed,
and hey, what’s a Crumpet mani with at least 1 disaster or something I have to
try and hide with my logo?!?
Lol, I hope you like
the rest, and let us know if you want to join our challenge J

Top Tip – if you’re
ever unsure what a nail colour looks like, go to Google images, which will give
you plenty of contrasts and compares.
