Nails I Love - Sally Hansen DELPHINIUM

Nails I Love

SALLY HANSEN – Delphinium

Helloooooo.  This is actually my first Sally Hansen post and the first time I have worn her.   Being a bit of a snob, I’ve always looked down on cheaper brands, and in the UK we only see her really cheap stuff rather than this, from the Complete Salon Manicure line.

Firstly, even before we get to the polish, can we just take a moment to applaud the bottle.  This feels like splendour.  Solid, chunky, round AND square, with a lovely silver wand, this just looks plush.  And talking of plush, the brush is ah-may-zing! The widest brush I have ever seen, you can load this up and do half a hand easily.  Big fan.  Big likey.  I also love that all Sally Hansen’s have the name label on top of the wand, so that when you’re peering down at your collection, you can easily find the one you want – genius, and so obvious!

And so the colour.   Delphinium is a lighter than air lilac, a low-cal confection of warmed hot air.  Super soft, super light and super subtle, this also has a beautiful purity.  It’s lilac with just a hint of grey to take the brightness away, and fits beautifully between OPI’s Planks A Lot and Essie’s Nice is Nice.  Goldilocks would love this – it’s not too dark, and not too pale; it’s Just Right.

In the bottle, it looks like ice cream – all smooth tranquillity and elegance.

I’m really happy with how this looks on my shorter nails.  I also think it’s a great office colour – understated but wowing at the same time.

The accent nail is another Sally – Mystic Lilac (she’ll be stealing her own show later in the week) and I used SH Twinkle, Twinkle on the thumb and middle finger.

TT by the way is one of the prettiest glitters I own – a beautiful swirl of silver and blue glitter of medium and micro sizes.

Hope you like this one!  J

Top Tip – if you’re ever unsure what a nail colour looks like, go to Google images, which will give you plenty of contrasts and compares.
