Nails I Love - CHINA GLAZE Ick-A-Bod-y

Nails I Love

HALLOWE’EN – Part 1 of 4
CHINA GLAZE – Ick-A-Bod-y

Hi goddesses.

This is the first of 4 themed posts looking at CG Ick-a-bod-y, Sally Hansen PUMPKIN SPICE, and CG Fortune Teller.  I bought all 3 polishes over the summer, and saved them for swatching until we got nearer Hallowe’en.  Being the duh I am, I had no idea when I bought them how similar they were …

So, Ick-A-Bod-y.  In the bottle, literally all you can see is orange sparkly glitter, giving it an oooooh on the amazingness scale.  It’s not til you put it on that you realise just how much orange they crammed in there – this literally explodes onto the nail.

In all these pictures, I have Icky on the 4 fingers, and a comparison of SH Pumpkin Spice on the thumb.  You can tell quite easily that SH PS has HALF the glitter of Icky.   Both polishes have been painted on top of SH Black Out.

Icky also sits in a slightly different base colour – it’s really hard to tell (even on the nail wheel) but this doesn’t sit in a sheer browny black, but in more of a murky colour.  The base has tones of brown, green and just MURK lol, giving it an extra Hallowe’enyness.

Icky applies really well – it’s quite smooth going on, for a glitter.  The orange is a nice bright burnt orange brassy bronze colour – pretty much perfect.  For some reason this also reminds me of tiger’s eyes!  There’s just something in the orange and how much of it there is that makes me think of feral things J

Just for fun, I then put some KleanColor Chunky Holo in POPPY on the middle finger to see what would happen J  I LOVE how it picks up green in the light – this just adds to the whole Hallowe’en vibe imo.

So, there’s part 1, stay tuned for a swatch of Pumpkin Spice and Fortune Teller and then a good ole comparison of the 3.

Enjoy J

Top Tip – if you’re ever unsure what a nail colour looks like, go to Google images, which will give you plenty of contrasts and compares.
