Hi Goddesses
So, one of my Bucket List goal this year was to become really proficient at a lot of basic tenchiques, and once I'm good enough, if you want me to, I'll walk you through them step-by-step.
Some of you will remember that Nailside was my Number 2 Blogger of the Year, mainly because she is a tape mani genius. She also does a lot of Chevron patterns, and that's where I decided to start. (If you want to see the master at work, click here).
The base is 2 coats of Models Own Purple Rain, a lovely dark purple - kind of the purple equivalent of navy. It has a subtle smokey quality in its darkness - it's riveting, mainly because despite its darkness it remains PURPLE.
I used normal Sellotape to plot out my chevrons, but this is where I think I went wrong. The chevrons are too shallow, and I think I should have done corner to corner with my tape, rather than corner to halfway.
For the chevron I used Glitter Gal Silver, which is holographic AND sparkly - super blingy. I *thought* it would turn the purple holographic - tbh, I am quite surprised it is just "sitting" there. When I tried it the night before on top of CG Starboard, they definitely merged together.
Sooooooo nots so bad for a first attempt - lots more practice to go ! :)
Enjoy xx :)
