Digit-al Dozen Dotting Days - Mermaid Mani

Hi Goddesses

This week, some of the Digit-al Dozen are putting in a little overtime and doing an extra week of nail art – specifically dotticures.   Often, when I dot, I do the same thing over and over, so the goal for me this week was to do dotting patterns I hadn’t tried before.

We start today with the mermaid dotticure.  I’ve seen this so many times, and every time I do, I swoon.  It wasn’t as difficult to do as I feared – the main pita is that you have to keep refreshing your blobs.

I started at the cuticle and worked my way down.  Next time though, I think I would do this on a white base.  I did it over Indigo Bananas Acid Ocean, because I wanted the teal flakies in that to peek through (which they do), but it sometimes made it really hard to see where I was going.

So – the polishes :
·       Base – Indigo Bananas Acid Ocean
·       Literary Lacquers Swallowed Up In Blue
·       Literary Lacquers Love You Forever
·       Pahlish This Song Is Ending
·       OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls
·       Illamasqua Viridian

I think I got the balance of colours and finishes just about right – I like that there are lighter notes, and that some are shimmery and others are very opaque.

I’ll definitely be doing this again.  Timewise, it honestly didn’t take me too long – probably 15ish minutes for 1 paw.  I can live with that.

Don’t forget to check out my other ladies -
