Lilypad Lacquer - Rolling In Rubies

Hi Goddesses

Today's post features 2 awesome manis.  Firstly, a swatch of the STUNNING Rolling In Rubies by Lilypad Lacquer, and secondly, some nail art I did on top of it, which to me looks like lightning!

So, as you know, Lilypad Lacquer is one of my favourite polishmakers, and this polish is from the bundle she sent me for review.   To be honest, I was in no hurry to swatch it because I thought it was "just another" purple holo, and lord knows I have enough of them.

Suffice to say that wearing it shut me up.  This may be one of THE purple holos of all time.  The base is rich, intense and goreous of tone, and the holo is magnificent and bendier than a Russian gymnast.

It's real win?  It manages to be both brown-toned and blue-toned at the same time.  Usually, purples are one or the other - to be both is unusual, rare, and almost impossible.

As you can tell by the overload of photos, I couldn't stop staring at this.

I then picked up Cloud Nine by Color Club to stamp over it.  The Color Club Halo Hues are sooooo under-rated.  If you're looking for great quality holos that are guaranteed to stamp, these are your gals.

I chose this pattern off Lily Anna 10, a nice wobbly, reedy pattern, put my lamp on, grabbed my camera, and couldn't believe what I saw.

Whilst my naked eye could see the pattern quite clearly, the camera was clearly overwhelmed by the holo, and what I captured instead looked like lightning bolts erupting from my cuticles, full of anger and fire.

I am ENTRANCED by this effect.  It is utterly magical, and somehow organic, and I think it's one of the very favourite things I have captured on camera.

To show you another side of this mani, I took these photos in the bathroom (where the lighting is a bit weird).  You lose the sweet ball of holo fire, but you can see how lovely the pattern is, which then helps you see it MORE in the other photos.

You can buy Lilypad Lacquer HERE.  This polish was sent to me for an honest review.
