40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Glitter or Flakie Toppers

Hi Goddesses

Happy weekend everyone!  I actually cannot believe we are 3 weeks from Christmas.  Where on earth does the time go?  It's also been super mild in the UK this week, so I am not quite festive yet - although I did buy my outfit for the Christmas party this week!

This week's 40 Great Nail Art Ideas is all about glitter toppers and flakie toppers, and as I bought a SHITLOAD of flakies this year, I was really excited to try some out!  My pattern prompt was chevrons, so let's take a look at what we've got.

For my base I used one of my favourite polishes, OPI Can't Find My Czechbook.   I then freehanded some chevrons using Cloudwalker by Indigo Bananas, and then edged them with Rain Upon The Moon by Grace-full Nail Polish.

Freehand?  Yeh, I was feeling lazy.  I have a really hard time placing chevron vinyls in the right position (I never seem to get the point of the V in the centre of my nail).  I tried vinyls on one nail and then "sodded it" and freehanded lol.

Cloudwalker is awesome.  Well, everything from Indigo Bananas is awesome.   This flakie leans from purple / fuchsia to turquoise, but in my camera lighting, you can see it leans mostly purple.  Away from the camera, I got much more of a balance of the 2 colours, and a much better blend with Czechbook.

This is my last nail art post of the year.  You may have noticed that the usual December onslaught of 3 posts a day, and the annual Crumpet Readers Poll haven't happened yet - and they won't.   Part of the reason for stepping back from my blog was to avoid the stress and endless hours creating December meant for me.  Don't get me wrong, they were my favourite posts of the year, but man they were hardcore!

That said, I am hoping to do 2 or 3 wrap up posts around Christmas giving you my highs and lows, heroes and villains of the year - well, it would be rude not to, wouldn't it?
