The Digit-al Dozen DOES Summer - Ice Cream Cones

Hi Goddesses

Today's post is another Pinterest inspiration, and although I think I've captured the essence of the pattern, I'm a little underwhelmed by the overall effect of this one.

I used the OPI Sheer Tints here for my ice cream - it was my first time using them, and boy I didn't enjoy the experience.  For dotting, they sucked.  Not only were they hard to make visible on the nail, but they dried really quickly on the blobbing mat and I had string EVERYWHERE.

I then did the cones with acrylic paint, but it looked soooo pale I could barely see it against the white background.

So I mixed some taupe nail polish into it.  I did not know polish and acrylic do not play nicely together lol.  But they are magnificent if you want to make putty.  Sigh.

So then I just took the taupe polish and thinned it down to add some darker strokes to my cones.  To be honest, by then, I'd lost interest - far too difficult lol.  It was stressful, hence I have little pleasure in the final result.

Siiiiigh.
