Wednesday Guest Post - Hannah from The Dalai Lama's Nails

Hi Goddesses

Today's Guest Post is from another of my bloggers to watch in 2014.  I love Hannah's colourful style, and her mani today is just to die for :)

Hi everybody! I'm Hannah from The Dalai Lama's Nails. I'm SO SO SO excited to be guest posting for the Crumpet today! You have no idea how excited I am (ok, I don't know, maybe you have a little idea?). I was so thrilled to be included on Debbie's list of blogs to watch in 2014, and she's included me again! With Valentine's Day coming up, I thought it would be fun to do an edgy Betsey Johnson kind of look. I wasn't inspired by any particular garment, but the finished manicure does remind me of her fashion. I also like it because I'm a little bit girly and I love flowers and pink and all that, but I'm also strong and independent - and I think that's perfect for a little mix and match.
The Dalai Lama's Nails: edgy valentines day

A few weeks ago I did a floral and leopard combination, though the components were on different nails. I kept thinking it would be so cool if I smushed them together onto one nail, for even more mix and matchiness!

I started by polishing all my nails with 3 coats OPI I Theodora You, which is a very lovely sheer pink. The leopard print was done using a dotting tool and Essie Cascade Cool for the center dots and American Apparel Hassid for the outlined portions. For the florals, I blobbed on OPI Mod About You with a dotting tool, and then went in to create some layers using a small detail brush and Essie She's Pampered, Zoya Charla, Essie Cascade Cool, and another little bit of Mod About You. The leaves are Essie Going Incognito.
