May - My Favourite Things

Hi Goddesses
How are we all?  Good?  I hope so.  The last few weeks have been grim and glorious for me.  I've had a lot of toxicity to deal with, a lot of moments of worthlessness, seriously dark thoughts, and also, some amazing uplifting moments.   This post is all about the happy, so let's get started.

General Highlights
* GFC Followers *finally* topped 2000 - thank you!
* I also exceeded 600,000 page views on the blog
* I wrote my 1250th blog post - wow, this blog has had a LOT of my time :)
* I did some of the best nail art I think I've ever done, especially Barry M Gelly Week.  The response to this was amazing, and the dotted mani has "reached" over 20,000 people on Facebook (if you believe their stats)
* I feel my manis are getting better and the photos are improving too
* and then there's all the writerly stuff I am unleashing on you - good good time :)

So, let's see some of this month's favourite things  -

Favourite Polish of the Month -

OMG I don't even know how I choose!  Barry M Gellys?  KIKO Sugar Mats?  Ninja Polishes? Enchanted Tenderheart?  Smitten Naiad?   Femme Fatale Fatal Attraction?  Aaaaaaargh, it should NOT be this hard lol.

Eventually I settled on Naiad by Smitten Polish as it's breathtaking.  It's also one of those polishes, that, the moment you wear it, you know is a classic.  Perfect aqua tones and amazing shimmer.  A summer joy.

Highlights of the Month

I really feel I've had a successful blogging month.   Bling Week from Digit-al Dozen was really well received, and the Barry M Gelly posts ... well, you were just like Pooh Bear and honey!

But it's this mani that made me the happiest.  Not because it's a cheerful mani (it is), but the way it was received, shared, reshared, and just spread like wildfire.  It's my most "sent out into the world" mani, and for a moment, it made me feel like a proper world class blogger.  Awesome moment.

Bummer of the Month

All the personal crappy stuff.  I'm not going to go into it, but I had some of the blackest days I've ever had.

Music of the Month

I know you might not believe this, but it's STILL all about Glee lol.  I have listened to nothing else on my ipod - love it love it love it.  I would also like to sincerely apologise to my work colleagues, who are well aware of how much I love this song.

Oh and here's a fun game for you (or torture, if you sit next to me at work).  Sing the boo-boo-boo-doodedoo riff of Anything Could Happen, then sing the doo-doo-doodedoodedoo-doo-doo-duh of Just Can't Get Enough by Depeche Mode.  Now try to go back and sing the riff for Anything Could Happen.  Can't be done!  It's like voodoo!  HOWEVER, the good news is (but not if you sit next to me at work) that 3 days of practice cures the issue!  Huzzah!  Thank you Kirstie for being my training partner :)

TV of The Month

I finished watching The Following - 10 awesome episodes of it, 8 of them in one evening!  Really impressed.  I know a lot of people didn't like the final episode, but I thought they did a really good job of keeping it twisting in a plausible manner.  Can't wait for the next one!

I've also been loving the end of Series 9 of Grey's Anatomy - one of the most enjoyable series we've had for a while, I think.

Stats of the Month

Total page views - 41k - stable.   I think my stats are slightly lower than they were in say January because I AM posting less.  Trying to be a good girl :)

Number of Posts - 40 !!!  40 !!!!  That's like only a little more than 1 a day.  This is a massive triumph peoples, massive !!!

Highest Viewed Post - Barry M Polka Dots - 824
Highest Viewed Post - Swatch - Barry M Summer Gellys - 674
Highest Viewed Post - Art - Barry M Polka Dots - 824 - hurrah for the triumph of nail art lol

In other news, I finally succumbed to the dark side and bought a Kindle.  I've resisted for forever as I love the physical heft of a book.  But there's no denying how convenient it is to have a library you can carry around.

So, lots to look forward to for June - the new features are filtering through, and you'll be pleased to know I worked on 4 tutorials today.  I wasn't sure whether swatch stick or hand, or photos or video, so we're going to have to work that out as we go along :)

Enjoy xx
