Review - GLITZOLOGY - Diet Cokehead and Raspberry Beret

Hi Goddesses

A few weeks ago, a new indie store called Glitzology launched, and frankly, I was a little blown away.  Her first collection was HUGE, and filled with amazing glitterbombs. I also really dug the font on the bottle, cos I'm a nerd like that :)

Since then, Stacy has been working tirelessly to raise her profile, and she sent samples out to a few bloggers, including me.  She's also been having ridiculous $5 sales in her store, so if you haven't grabbed any yet, you should.  I honestly don't think she needs to lower her price to this level, so grab em while you can!

The 2 polishes I chose were Diet Cokehead and Raspberry Beret.  Diet Cokehead is verrrrry different to anything else I've owned.  This is a grey glitter soup, sprinkled with shimmer, and black and red glitters.

I layered this over a KIKO dark grey as I wasn't sure how opaque it would be, but with both polishes I learnt that they are totally opaque at 2 coats.  These polishes are thick and heavy - but that doesn't make them unmanageable. You can definitely wear them commando.

Diet Cokehead looked really interesting on the nail, and it was the subtle shimmer that really won it for me.  Personally, I didn't like the bar glitter, and I would have preferred the polish without it.

Now, Raspberry Beret.  Hhhhmmm we had some problems! This was the polish I most loved in Stacy's store, but I think I under-estimated it.  I assumed it would layer easily over other colours, but it didn't.  There's too much going on - so instead I ended up with this foul scenario when I tried to layer it over a KIKO orange.

You can see that the glitter is just too dense for what I'm trying to do.  I then layered it over a navy base, with mixed success.

On my nails, I didn't feel like this was a winner, but in the photos, it looks absolutely stunning and really highlights the complexity of the glitter.

Raspberry Beret is a swirl of pink, purple, blue and aqua, and I do think the navy shows the polish off at it's best.

As you can see, there's a lot of opacity here, so my recommendation is - if you're going to wear undies, make them pink or magenta (as the colour clash with the orange failed so hard lol).

Finally I decided to layer her over pink - OPI Sparrow Me The Drama.  I deliberately scraped the brush almost dry to try and get some sparse glitter coverage, but then doubled up on the ring finger.

It does amuse me how different this looks to the navy layering - she's quite the diva is Miss Raspberry Beret.

Next time, I think I would wear this on it's own or over a magenta shade such as Zoya Demi.

You can buy from Glitzology here and find them on Facebook here.

These polishes were sent to me for an honest review.

Enjoy xx :)
