Digit-al Dozen DOES Music - Spice Girls

Hi Goddesses

I desperately didn't want to pay homage to 2 groups during Music Week, but in the end, I ran out of time and easy options.  I desperately wanted to do Born To Run by The Boss, which is my single awesomest concert moment EVER, but I don't have a motorbike stamp, and there's no way I could freehand one.

I wanted to do Jeff Buckley nails, because his music truly is from the angels, but I ran out of time to research what I wanted to do.  Then I almost did Live Aid nails, to commemorate the music industry becoming a movement, but again ran out of time - I might save that one for a rainy day.

So, the Spice Girls.  I was sooooo happy to see them at the Olympic Closing Ceremony.  Are they the best girl group ever?  No, they're not.  But what they DID do was make the most of what they had and commercialise it to a level never seen before.

In fact, it's quite hard to explain to Beth why we can't see them in concert.  Music has a life of its own, and it's interesting how through the eyes and ears of a child, it truly is timeless.  Beth has NO comprehension that Wannabe is what ... 15 years old ... shit, REALLY ? .... and thinks they all still look like they did in that video.

So, I tried to capture the essence of each Spice -

* thumb - Union Jack for Geri's infamous dress, topped off with a little bit of hair courtesy of CG Life Preserver

* index - Scary Spice - freehand leopard!!  yeh, get that (I couldn't find my stamping plate lol).  This is OPI Did You Hear About Van Gogh, lightly sponged with a mixture of the same polish and a little bit of Schnapps Out Of It

* middle - Baby Spice - OPI Sparrow Me The Drama and then a nail art squeezy pen to make her pigtails and lollipop

* ring - Sporty Spice.  In the beginning she wore hideous tracksuits.  This one is red with a white stripe after her beloved Liverpool FC

* pinkie - Posh Spice - all she ever used to wear was black!

So, fave Spice Girls song ??  Say You'll Be There, hands down pure pop perfection.

I hope you've really enjoyed this week.  It's been fun, and I'm really pleased with some of these manis, they've been creative and fun, and some of the best art I think I've done for months.   Don't forget to check out the other members of the Dozen xx

Enjoy :) xx
