30 Days of Purple - Day 21 - Crushed Seashell French Tips

Hi Goddesses

Phew, life might actually be returning to normal here in Crumpetland, but wow I have a lot of catching up to do!

Today's post for 30 Days of Purple saw me crack open the nail art supplies I bought back in the summer.  I wasn't really sure what I was looking for, so I just picked out purple things that didn't look too gay, and eventually found these bruised looking crushed shell glitters.

For my base I used the glorious Jess' Champagne Toast by Barielle.  It's a lovely greyed out metallic purple, with a hint of blue, shot through with coppery-pink glitter, fusing cool and warm tones together in a gorgeous mix.

This polish is superb on it's own.   I have to admit, I am a sucker for polishes with copper glitter.  I don't know why, but they ALWAYS look spectacular.

So, back to the crushed sea shells.   These come in a little pot, like most glitters.  Rather than apply them with tweezers, I decided to apply them like caviar.

I painted my nail with a slow drying top coat where I wanted the glitter to go, and then dunked my nail in the pot.  I then used a thin dotting tool to prune my line, and thin it down where it got too clumpy.

I'm not sure how much I love it, but at least it's different.  I don't know about you, but it reminds me of those laurel leaf crowns Greek gods used to wear!

Enjoy xx :)
