Swatch & Review - KBShimmer - Jack

Hi Goddesses

Halfway through KBShimmer Week, and today I have for you the perfect Hallowe'en polish - Jack.

This one has had a lot of interest among the collection, and it's not hard to see why.  With its black jelly base and its medium sized orange hexes, this is perfect for autumn nights and bonfires and just SCREAMS Hallowe'en.

Now, I have to be honest, fabulous though this polish is, it's not my favourite.  I have a hard time with blacks, and black jellies in particular look very wrong on me.  One by one, I've bought and then swapped Pumpkin Spice, Fortune Teller and Ick-A-Body.  There's just something about them that doesn't work with my skin tone.

That said, if you're looking for the perfect gothic-yet-cheerful Hallowe'en polish, Jack's definitely your boy.   Super glossy, this is dominated by the large glossy hexes, but also has smaller glitters, as well as a smattering of hairy glitter (although thankfully not too much).

I used 3 coats for these photos to try and make the black opaque, but if I was wearing it again, I would definitely layer it.  As with all the polishes it applied beautifully - the polish applied smoothly and easily, and the glitter was happy to grab hold of the brush (rather than the bottom of the bottle).

Anywho, when I was going to the utility room to take my photos, who should happen to be in the kitchen but Big Fat Fliss, the neighbour's cat, tucking into Pumpkin's bowl !!  (Pumpkin is still in shock).  I quite love that Fliss tonally matches Jack - haha.

So, not MY favourite, but I have no doubt this will be one of the bestsellers of the Collection, which goes on sale on 1st September at Etsy and Harlow & Co.

Enjoy xx :)
