Celebration 500 - Guest Post from Emma of Manicurity

Hi Goddesses

Today's guest post comes from another of my best friends and member of our Birthday Club - Emma of Manicurity.   Emma's blog is an art masterpiece - everything is a visual feast, and she focuses on texture as much as colour.

The theme for all the guest bloggers was to depict either a celebration, a recreation of a Crumpet mani OR create a mani they thought I would like eg purple :)  Over to Emma  xx

Hello! This is Emma from Manicurity and I'm really excited to be doing this guest post for Debbie today!  To help celebrate Debbie's accomplishments, I wanted to do a really fun manicure with her favorite colors, so I did a red-ish -> purple gradient with OPI Do You Think I'm Tex-Yand a purple jelly franken I made.

First I tried sponging on my gradient with a cosmetic wedge, my typical gradient method, but I wasn't very happy with the opacity I was achieving (and I'm also a wee bit impatient). Instead I turned to the 'syrup' method and I lightly painted the jellies on - the red from the base and the purple from the tip - with a little mixing of the color. I like the resulting swirly, "painterly" overlap in the middle of my nails that I got from this method.

On my ring finger I sponged on an accent of Lynnderella glitters - Ruby Red Ruby, Very Pretty Vampire, and Love Potion no. 99. I was surprised at how the black glitter in VPV stood out so much on the nail. This manicure was fun and juicy, and I couldn't stop staring at how pretty it was in the sun - especially that glittery nail!

Thanks for letting me share this manicure and hooray! Happy 500 posts, Debbie!! I can't wait to see what you'll do for the next 500 posts :D

Wow Emma, what a stunning choice.  Not only my favourite colours on the gradient, but 3 killer Lynnderellas on the accent nail.  I may have to try this soon.  Thank you my lovely xxx

The next guest post is on Monday, with Missy from Gnarly Nails.   Enjoy xx :)
